I remember surfing HB back in the 90’s early morning before the contest that they used to have there… like 2-3ft sloppy Southside Huntington, nothing special, then Mick comes out there for a warm-up sesh… mind blowingly insane the amount of power and speed he was generating from those piddly waves! Flying down the line and detonating massive sprays off the lip, and the longest wrap-around-rebound bashes off the whitewater, boosting airs and just destroying the tiny little burgery pre-contest junk waves. He’s like an albino spider monkey on meth, even in small surf. Mental!

You gotta be that good to be a World champ, just a level above the best. Saw him win his first CT in Bells in 2001, I couldn't fathom the speed, just had never seen anything like it before. Fast forward 11 years later, Supertubos Rip Curl Pro, saw him take a gnarly beating wiping out backwards over the falls solid 6ft Supertubos, just shook it off, then rode a barrel all the ways to the sand right in front of me Crazy stuff.

@@DylanGravesYTI surfed with him in France on a meager day and I specifically remember the sound his of his leash snapping against itself like the belt of discipline just from constantly going so fast.

The way the wave refracts the light is beautiful. And Dylan, I grew up surfing Folly Beach, SC and remember being in my teens just lusting over Puerto Rico. It was so close, yet so far. Anyway, your name stuck in my brain from the one PR surf vid I owned. Skip-ahead 10 years or so, I see this KZbin video "DYLAN GRAVES: EXPLOSION SALAD" thinking, "Awesome, good for him," so, I click. Then Honey Bucket drops to raw, free, and gnarly surfing and I've been a fan since. Mick's a legend, sure. Sure he's an Adonis-looking freak athlete and sure Mick definitely went toe-to-toe with a Great White shark and walked away the victor, sure. But, is Taj Burrow faster and maybe have a fuller more arching roundhouse? I don't know, dude, I don't know. Those questions are best left for the suits in Washington. I think what I was saying is you're a legend too or something. p.s. I joined the Coast Guard circa 2010 and got stationed in Key West out of boot, and every PR port call I jumped in a rental and made a b-line toward Rincon. It exceeded the hopes from my youth. That was 2013 and I was 27. Anyway, appreciate your spirit, musical telent too, thanks dude.

My Grandmother, housewife maiden Anne Starkey and retired also defend the country with a broomstick handle English Army joiner husband William Bate, left stamp rationed Manchester with their family for Australia on the Aberdeen in nineteen fifty one and Mum said when the passage got rough, all the kids had a great time sliding from one side of the ship to the other and when they got to their Australian Railway supplied house, there were boxes of food on the table in the kitchen, while also quoting him saying that Mum would've ended up in one of those camps if in Germany.

I pray you and all those who read this message would understand, repent, and believe the Gospel (good news) of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to be saved from the wrath and judgment of God Almighty that is soon to be poured out on this world and those of it. He is the perfect, sinless atonement for the sins of all those who put their faith in Him. He is the risen Lord of lords. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Amen. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
