A lot of ARMY believe the “I’m not a monk” line refers to the time he went to a Buddist temple before enlisting to rest and reflect and the monk he spoke to in confidence gave an interview to some magazine or newspaper revealing their private conversation as well as a picture, I believe. RM mentioned ut on an IG post saying he hadn’t expected a monk to do that and that next time he would quietly go to a different temple. It was definitely a betrayal. 😢

RM is a genius. Period. All 7 are, really.😎💜 I have said before that I dislike profanity in songs, but I have to admit that when BTS uses it, it doesn’t faze me!! Great reaction. This is my favorite song off the album just because I agree with RM wholeheartedly about this idea of just wanting to be himself without all the undue criticism. It’s so hard to deal with day in and day out. Especially for such a deep soul like RM.

If you had told me a week ago that I would have said I love groin I would laugh in your face. But here we are. I love Groin and Out of love for the fuck you attitude. I was waiting for Namjoon to speak up about it. You could see that attitude in his latest weverse lives but I waited for a song. And both are 🔥 Are you going to react to the full album? It is really, like REALLY good. He outdid himself and I thought I will not like any album more than Indigo.

I love your interpretation of "I'm not a monk", but there's a possible alternative: he confided in a monk with whom he had a history of conversation and philanthropy about his concerns/fears about his approaching military service, and the monk blabbed to the press. So, he's a better friend and more honest? Because he also says he's not a diplomat ("... an honest gentleman sent to lie abroad for the good of his country"),

There's BTS ARMY (their fans), and their are casual fans, solo stans, etc. Not ARMY's. The casual fans and solo stans are the ones that are most likely to not like a song or album. Hello there, dear human! I was looking forward to your interpretation of this song. The last few months I've been having some bitter-sweet feelings. As in, I felt sad and sorry about them having to refrain so much from just being themselves. It started with Yoongi's interviews with them for their solo albums and how they gradually started to let more out on their true feelings. It pains me to see how much they fear to be misunderstood. How their image of "perfect idols and BTS members" could be somehow ruined by just showing some of their other sides. Basically just them being human, exploring life, growing, changing their minds about certain things and ideas they may have had years ago. I do hope and wish that once they re-unite they will somehow manage to put less pressure on how they are perceived and more energy into their creative process, their pace, happiness and just being. Great reaction and interpretation.. I think you nailed it. It seems that SUGA released a lot of his frustrations through AGUST-D earlier on, but RM just sucked it up. Being the leader, with all those expectations, I imagine he didn’t feel free to really voice his frustrations. I can see why he says it almost killed him. I’m so glad he did this album. Indigo was alarming, but this seems cathartic. I’m glad we still have Namjoon, we need him in our lives for a long time.
