Those are about 2 bucks each, but with that accuracy, well worth the cost.

Id give 5 bucks a piece for them honestly if I wanted to hunt.

@@theshotgunscientists Yeah, you'd pay a lot more than that for a factory round that will do the same.

That group at 110 yds is actually a 1" group if measured fron center to center, maybe 3/4". That is awesome performance from a slug

Thanks fellas. I have been hoping you guys would do a part 2 on this outstanding slug. I contacted you a few months ago, asking about a good 12 gauge ‘bear defense’ load I could make for a friend of mine that lives in Alaska. I think this slug is perfect for the job. Over 3,000 foot/ pounds of energy with 35 grains of LongShot makes for a great bear defense round. Knowing it’s accurate on top of that is just added bonus. It’s made out of hardened lead so it should penetrate pretty deep even if it hits bone/ cartilage/ muscle tissue/ thick skin. Keep up the great work guys.

Just ordered some more of them from Ballistic Products. With the $4.99 shipping special going on right now, they are not to expensive to order.

Ballistic Products does list 25 of the DGS slugs for $17.99 - buy-in-bulk savings! That was a great video! If I were hunting with slugs, you’ve shown these are what I’d want. My brother is in a shotgun/slug only deer zone. I’ll tell him about these, but he currently has a 2-3/4” 12 gauge; not 3”.
@theshotgunscientists9 күн бұрын
How old is the gun? I don’t know of any 12 gauge made from the 80’s on that only has a 2 3/4” chamber. These will work in 2 3/4” if you use a plastic overshot card and roll crimp.

I would like to see just how far they’re accurate too. 110 yards is nothing for these.

@theshotgunscientists Once the snow goes away here, March or April the plan is to figure that one out. My eyesight is only really good to 75 yds max. I am still hopefull for the Lyman style waisted slugs as you can cast and shoot them without needing to buy the tail feathers. Self sufficiency.

I see you loaded these slugs in 3” hulls with 36 grains of LongShot and got great results. It’s there any load data out there to load these slugs with a grain or 2 more LongShot for a little more punch? I have all the manuals that Ballistic Products sells and they don’t have to much load data on these slugs.
