Call me the captain of over complicating things. Getting back to the roots is the direction I need to head. Thanks again, Jaani.

I love videos like this because it points something out very important. Everyone thinks slightly differently, so one way of explaining or doing doesn't always work well for someone else. This is what I consider to be the difference between a new coach, and an experienced coach. It's not about knowing every single step, it's about knowing multiple ways to explain and show every step, so a wider range of people can see improvement.

Yeah, true! My lessons are typically about telling the same thing in 10 different ways until it clicks, and then we move on. Sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes it clicks right away, but it always does sooner or later.

Thanks! Though I didn't think about Sling doing this, and I doubt any of his fans would turn into my channel anyway let alone believe me.

All about the basics. Way to much complicated things going on where people are trying to find a niche, but... still don't even grasp the basics. I like simple things and want to encourage other creators to keep building and working on the simple stuff.

Throwing discs is so, so simple. But especially us KZbinrs are tempted to make it complicated because: A) it makes us look smart B) it justifies more content C) it's easier to sell lessons D) it makes us look smart yet again F) new and revolutionary moves get the attention even if they are shit.

"the body knows how to do it" not if you lack the internal rotation in the femur/hips and have inactivated glutes is what i learned from biomechanics. Inactivity tend to make you use your left leg as a stilt which makes you unable to coil into the back leg. This is why i like your brace and arm approach to teaching.

Yeah, we humans have messed up our instinctual systems quite badly over the centuries. Thanks for the thumbs up!

I throw standstill (for now), and always kept my weight pretty evenly distributed over both feet. Since last week I’ve been working on lifting my front heel then stomping it into the ground a split second before beginning to uncoil and bringing the disc forward. This forces my leg to straighten and pushes my front hip backwards. As long as I don’t forget my other cues to keep my hand closed and wrist supinated I am seeing big gains from this.

Nate sexton has a video from about a year ago (learn disc golf distance backhand with Nate sexton) for beginners learning to throw. He goes over everything you would need in about 6 minutes. It's a great overview except he got a bunch of stuff wrong when it came to elbow position and weight shift. Can you remake his video in that short duration, but correct his errors? I'm trying to share a video for a friend who has never been disc golfing before. Thanks!

Thank you for commenting. As I see it, making videos criticising and picking on other individuals'work is a lowly act, and I won't do it, not anymore. I'd rather teach my own thing, my own way, and let people learn that way. Yes, I know, I would make so much money and get clicks with a video titled "Nate Sexton is WRONG!" but you know, that is not my style. I let people attack me, as seems to be the case, but they won't provoke me enough to change my nature. I hope my videos are enough to teach the best possible way to throw regardless.

Why would you ask somebody to remake their entire video?
@jdunne525

Okay. I can understand that position. My request is simply that the video be made. I agree not to criticize Nate sexton directly. I went through all the videos you have yesterday trying to find a quick overview with the basics from grip to x-step to weight shift in a single simple video and I just couldn't find a single video with all of the details.
