Hi Al. Been watching your videos for quite a while. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and positivity and you strike me as a genuinely decent guy who is down to earth. I never subscribe to any channel because I don't closely follow anyone on YT , but your videos are great! So I subscribed. I've been seeing your videos for a while and YT just suggested me this one, I like chess sets and clocks, I have a DGT 3000 because what I really like is the screen, and all the info that it shows, not because a DGT digital board, anyway... I think the 3000 and the 2500 are for different players... the 2500 is a good clock for general use, great form factor, but at the moment I would (or suggest to anyone) go for the 3000 or even the 2010... if DGT revamps the 2500 with all the screen info of the 3000... well, quite probable I will be buying a new chess clock!... I still prefer the 3000 but the contrast and display size on 2500 is excellent.

Problem with the "official" FIDE clock is that it doesn't communicate with a Dgt board like the 3000 clock does. How do they solve that problem?

Absolutely agree - DGT 3000 is not being replaced. This new clock replaces the DGT 2500 but is hugely more expensive. Much cheaper and easier to program FIDE approved clocks exist. A comparison video would be a good follow up. Reviewer failed to mention a key point - does it retain custom settings when the batteries are changed (DGT 3000 does). For clubs a DGT 3000 can be set up for normal league games and club rapids and never need tinkering with. Useful video nevertheless.

On the negative side the clock is more noisy which chess players do not like , hope the next model they reduce the noise level

I´ve recently bought one and it´s substentially better than the old one, especially the haptiv feedback is, at least for me, very satisfying, the screen is nice and clear, not to crowded.

How do you get the running out time sound to work for a 10 minute game in setting 8?

Does this clock let you count up? If you set the time to manual, no delay, zero for both players, does the time count up?

It has a option called force move counter and it does not do anything

Do you have a particular clock that you prefer? I ordered the 2500, but it had issues with the magnets not being of equal strength. One side was much harder to depress than the other.

I had leap chess clock and it has issues like if I press the lever hard it makes a beep sound and turn off so I buy dgt 2500 chess clock

Quick a question: Is there a way of quickly checking the selected settings for both players'? I have the feeling there's the opportunity for people to cheat by e.g sneakily changing the intervals for one player beforehand. It would be a pity if you can't just check visually. Or am I mistaken?

Before you start the game, or when the game is PAUSED, click the LEFT ARROW and click the RIGHT ARROW to scroll through all the time control settings for your current game.

Great review. I got one to compare with my Wholesale Advanced Digital Game Timer. I ended preferring my Wholesale clock. I thought my wholesale clock had better color (grey), was more compact and the levers required less pressure to push. Review on my channel. The display on the Wholesale advanced clock is pretty good, the one on the DGT 2500 is a little larger and better.

After 6 months using my DGT 2500 clock just one side runs. If I press the bracket, the time continues to run down instead to change to the other side. Does anyone else have this problem?
