When I was in grade 11, a student took her own life. I was heavily involved in the music department and she was too. We saw each other and talked everyday, we sat together during band and talked about things we both liked. I always forgot my sheet music and she would always let me look off of hers and we’d laugh about it. We were also in show band together and had a big show happening that year. It was the very end of February/early March when it happened and our show was in May. Not as close as 2 weeks like in this episode but it still was so hard to go on without her. We had a moment in the show where we talked about her and how she was part of our music family and we dedicated a specific song to her + changed the lights to her favourite colours for it. The whole show was definitely done in her honour because of the effect of dealing with that loss and just how much she meant to a lot of us. She was a really amazing person and I miss her a lot.

I don't get the point of canceling the talent show because of what happened - it's not disrespectful to anyone, in fact, I think it would be better for them to have something that makes them happy instead of sitting around and being sad about all of it. @AllyLautner , I agree. While Claude clearly had a lot of problems, he killed himself at school to "show everyone" - but he had no idea just how damaging his actions would be. It's so sad. The fact that he felt that life wasn't worth living and that he wanted to cause others pain by taking his own life - shows how long-reaching and devastating suicide is.

People all have their own opinions when it comes to suicide. Both Campbell and Claud (idk), had Reasons. When people say it’s selfish they have to realize it’s not like they asked to be in that space. Depression, Anxiety, and Suicide are all big problems. The way your mental state can go to such an extremely dark place is scary. But the warning signs are there, schools should talk about it. Provide Counseling that won’t tell your parents so you are more comfortable. Suicide isn’t selfish, it’s a way that shows your mind can’t Handle it no more. Like Maya tried to kill herself, that all happens when a series of even happen beginning with the death of her lover, Campbell Saunders. But she didn’t know cause he wouldn’t let her help

Suicide inherently isnt selfish, I agree with you. But it can be done with a selfish intent. Think about school shooters who kill 20 before they take their own life, theyre not doing it to end their depression, theyre doing it to avoid punishment and having their motives questioned. Claude did it to punish caitlyn, he did it in a place he knew a student would discover his body, he planned it out. Cam did it because he was under a world of pressure and he felt hopeless. Maya did it because she had a lot of untreated trauma. Neither of those were selfish. Claude was

I think Caitlin's reaction makes a little more sense. Their relationship was not a good one. And Claude was mostly out for himself. He ignored his friend who tried to help him. He even sent Caitlin a creepy note beyond the grave. Maya's reaction seemed more heartless. Maya and Cam had something decent going. Cam was actually depressed and did not want to let anyone down, and was under a lot of pressure. Trivia: One of the producers(?) said that Maya reacted that way because they did not want to "romanticize" suicide.

When I was in 12th grade, a sophomore who got picked on a lot lured two bullies into the science lab and beat them to a pulp. Then he walked into the hallway and socked another one in the mouth and smashed his upper jaw. They had to put those three sh-ts on painkillers. Then the boy ran away.
