✓ It's not very often that a food shop's name makes us feel hungry and leaves us wanting to visit, but there is something very inviting with the name "Bombay Street Kitchen". As soon as we heard the name we definitely wanted to visit these guys. The only thing holding us back was that they are in Leicester (and we are in London).
We finally managed to catch up with them when we went to Leicester for the Mela and we are happy to confirm that the taste of the food lived up to the name!!!
On the day of our visit we ordered as Frankies:
* Dhaba Paneer (with Chilli Sauce and Mint Sauce, Katchumber: Salad of Tomato, Cucumber and Onions).
* Makai Tikki and Veg Tikki (with Green Chutney and Thumbs Up Chutney and Lettuce).
+
* Chowpatty Cheese Toast (with Green Chillies and Garlic Butter).
(A Franky is just like a Kathi roll and usually has a thin layer of egg; we opted for the eggless version).
Incredibly we also managed to get a bottle of Desi Limca Soda. with the meal deal option, all of the above for just £8.49
Also seen being made in this video is:
* Bateta Vada Pau
* Hara Bhara Pav
* Chips
* Samosa Pav
All the items are made using secret recipe ingredients which gives an authentic desi flavour to the food served up.
There are other "Indian Street Eat" items on the menu that we didn't have a chance to try.........so we can't wait to pay a return visit to taste what we have missed this time around, wink wink!!! ;-)
How refreshing to visit this clean and hygenic Indian Street Food kitchen and we liked the fact that the staff wore gloves when handling the food.
We are impressed that they have 2 separate sections for the veg & non-veg item.
You can show some love for them via their various social media pages:

These guys opened recently last year (in March 2019) but have gained a popular following due to the unique menu items that they've created using some of the most Popular and famous of Indian Street Foods.
The shop is located at: 29 Melton Road, Leicester, LE4 6PN
If you have any questions you can phone them on: 0116 268 1142
A special thank you to Nikesh and the team who welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their street kitchen to do the videoing.
This is another video from our recent 5 day long foodie visit we made to Leicester (in Aug 2019) especially to record some of the most famous and popular food places there (some established many decades ago when East African Asians arrived in the UK having fled the Idi Amin regime) some of the East Africa Asians settled in the streets in and around the Belgrave road and Melton Road area (a stretch of road affectionately known as the " Golden Mile"). Most if not all of the restaurants here are very homely and welcoming and it does not feel like you are eating in an unfamiliar cafe or restaurant but more like eating at a friend or relatives place.
