The boy didn't resort to childish tactics to reunite after slapping the girl. The order of scenes in the trailer is not same as the movie, a trailer moves back and forth. The scene where he's singing the same song in English comes somewhere after the one in which the girl asks him to do so.

Hi Jaby, Please watch Sairat before Dhadak. I don't think there is even a slim chance that a karan Johar bollywoodized production will do justice to the spirit of Sairat. I hope this version makes you watch Sairat and then you watch Fandry (Both sairat and fandry are made by the same guy). This will be an unforgettable experience. If you watch Dhadak first I assure you your experience will be ruined. As per your advice - being verbose here. Best wishes.

Clearly the caste angle and Dalit assertion is being taken away to whitewash it into a typical rich girl - poor boy movie. So disappointed that a masterpiece like Sairat will now be known to most Indians as "the movie from which Dhadak was remade", while clearly missing what made Sairat the extraordinary movie that it is: it's willingness to address India's caste atrocities.

Ashwini Tiwari I'm sorry that you have to face that. You know I belong to a low caste but my family and financial status is quite fine. But that isn't the case with most of the low caste peoples. They have very poor family and financial environment. Many students have to work to support their studies. So, It is necessary to give such people some relief with at least the marks. Reservation system isn't perfect but It's necessary for the low caste people to grow up in the society. But I guess reservation based on family's annual income would be much more fair and It'll come really helpful for the people of the so called general caste who are poor to get rightful education.

YATENDRA PAL First of all, there seems to be zero mention of any caste conflict in the trailer; which we need not take at face value because that might as well not be the case in the movie. But let's face it. This is Johar's movie and a serious discussion like caste is hardly his forte. Also, if you read up a little, the movie is clearly being pitched as one based on "class" and "economic" differences. But caste is a reality of its own that cannot be defined by these factors. They overlap, sure. But it's quite the terror independent of them too. Sairat, from the very start, never shied away from stating what the film stood for: which Dhadak doesn't seem to have guts to do.

Ashwini Tiwari I am sorry for your experience. I myself belong to the General category and have, in the past, several times thought that education would have been a cakewalk for me, had I belonged to SC/ST categories. I come from a sheltered background in Kerala and was of the strong opinion that caste is a thing of the past. But my later experiences in life has taught me otherwise. I have close Dalit friends and some of the experiences they have had has shocked me into understanding the reality. Caste is still alive and well in India. Even if they gain economical status, some people refuse to see beyond their "background". The privilege of being upper-caste that I, and assume you too, come from, would not allow us to see this reality unless we go looking for it. I hope you do too some day. Wish you all the best. :)

I looooooved Sairat. Just posted a video on my channel last night of my thoughts on the trailer vs Sairat. Coming to that slap, it was in the original too and it does serve a purpose in the story, if only because it felt realistic (not just showing that men can slap women). Not sure it should’ve been included in the trailer though, it sends a wrong message. This is definitely a glamorized version of Sairat too though. The gun scene in particular bugged me - in Sairat, she points the gun at THEM, because she’s a badass. Why is she pointing it at her head? 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ But I’m super excited for the movie!
