My zenfone max pro m2 also recovered from water damage, first i took it to service centre and they told display and charging board are faulty and will cost 5800rs, but i denied repair and tried myself at home same as u did and, voila after 24hrs device turned on and function smoothly. Edit: this shows how service centres are looting customers.

@@Dhananjay_Tech Yeah its debatable, My thinking is, when phones dip into water, if we opened its back cover and some parts immediately, the water droplets might get much more inside due to this action. Thats why its better to keep it still in a drawer or ricebag for 2-3 days.

Hi Dhananjay, I too had faced the same water damage issue this weekend. My phone was too much drenched in water for almost 8 hrs. I went to mi store and they told me to replace motherboard, subboard, btry as well and it was costing mi another note 5 pro. So I decided to perform these same things at my home. I have removed the cables but removed the back panel, btry & display connectors. Put it in rice for 2 days. And guess what I am able to post this comment using the same note 5 pro. And it's working totally fine except vibration motor. 😃 Thanks god I have tried at least. Saved a lot. Now my question is shall I continue using the same device or will it create more issues in future as whole motherboard was wet earlier so thinking these internal connections may get shorted some time. What u think ??

Power & volume button not worked because you did not connect all the screw. Since in redmi note 5 pro, there is no direct lego connection in between power button cable & motherboard, it will not work. when you fits all the screw perfectly tightly, the connection of power button touches the motherboard and it works, easy. 👍💪

2 years ago I dropped my Redmi 3S Prime in the salt water i.e. ocean water when clicking some selfies. I immediately take that out from water and started clicking. The phone was working fine so I didn't tried to turn that off. After about 30mins later I noticed that power button is not working and front camera is not clear so I checked the phone thoroughly and to my surprise the entire display is filled with water droplets.😁😁😁 Tried to switch the phone off but it didn't continuously rebooted for next 5-6 hours until the battery completely drained. I realized that I should have switched that off in the first place. I came home and tried hair dryer, Rice solution, dry under sun but couldn't able to switch it on or charge it. And it went for another 12 days. So bought a new device and kept the phone. After about 1month I simply plugged the dead phone in charger and voila it starts charging. Then after the entire device was working like it never faced any issue. But immediately after I decided to sell that out and I did the same for 6k. Moral of the experience- 1. After any water drop switch off your device and do not turn it on, first make sure it's completely dry and clean. 2. If your phone is dead don't loose hope, keep your device in a dry environment. It will start working if not motherboard is burnt. 3. Sell that device immediately after its working fine because after about 2-3 months something will go wrong, like display will fade away, camera will not work properly, battery will not give enough backup. So that is my experience.

hi you should have replaced the thermal paste for the cpu of the phone as it never seals properly again after removing. the phone may heat a bit more if the seal is not proper. but only a problem if very heavy gaming or using camera for long. cheers mate

It was still wet to touch and I ran benchmarks for more than 15 mins and the device didn't become too hot so didn't add thermal paste :)

Just to help you. Next time you remove a battery with a spudger or prying tool. Make sure the battery is below 20% charge. It stops the battery exploding if you accidentally puncture it. Also, you can use anti-static tweezers for the motherboard and daughter board.

Hope Dhananjay read this comment. I do electronics repair as a hobby. Damage by water on a motherboard occurs by the corrosion which occurs at the thousands of solder joints on board. Removing the motherboard and trying to dry it is a good idea but it will not completely solve the problem.Microscopic corrosion can still occur as water presence isn't completely removed causing damage in near future. Ultrasonic cleaning is the professional solution in place of rice dip shown in video. I suggest you to introduce such repairs into the coming videos and explain more on how the damage occurs. Sadly,i have not seen any professional repair service solving these kind of damages in India.

you shouldn't reuse old thermal paste also it was dropped in water. please next time for these kind of recovery where motherboard is lifted off, Clean old thermal paste and Reapply new thermal paste available in syringes. It is just better.

Look. The water causes short circuits and destroys the chipsets on the motherboard. Rice cannot undo that. If your phone has a short circuit, it is fixable, but very very very difficult. You need a microscope and a multimeter and you better be amazing at micro soldering

I have a Motorola g7 that has files not backed up and I need it. I thought that screen was the issue (its cracked. Especially at the bottom) so I had that replaced at my local store and it still isnt turning on. There might have been a drop of two of water that got on it and went through the bottom of the screen where the charging port is. Is the power supply the culprit probabably? I will pay good good money to have this fixed or to restore my files. Even if I have to buy another G7 and swap out some of the guts. Please any info? I'm desperate and panicked

Don't pull the pull tabs in the battery section part since every single phone is not with a pull tab nor u don't have the tools to pull it out or u shouldn't put much pressure on battery since battery is battery and it will blast off and the main thing is don't use finger to release lego style connector u should use the blue coloured stick which u used to take off the back panel while putting it in place just be gentle that's it :)

Actually... My Nokia 7 plus fell in the water for just 2 seconds ..probably less than that.. it was working fine.. only speaker wasn't working great as used to be.. but everything was working fine... My Galaxy Note 4 was being hit by live steam pressure from boiler and it died short time afterwards. I found water inside in every small crevice and it was not turning on but only restarting many times. I took out battery and left it to sit for several hours. Now I am plugging in power cord and it is working perfectly.
