Thank for posting! They cropped the version of the letter that they posted. We absolutely were very clear in the full version of the letter that this was a meeting WITH Dhar. The letter is addressed to him. We also sent several follow-up emails reiterating that. So their post was very manipulative.

Also another issue (another actor posted a TikTok that explained it really well) the way they offer roles is they say they want to book you for like five days and make you hold those days for them. They make you sign the contract BEFORE they release the details as to what role you’re getting. Then you get the script and a lot of times you realize that your role is only needed for one day as and maybe not even a full day. It’s a bizarre procedure that I have absolutely never seen before in any other production.

My daughter did some Dhar Mann films, they pay MINOR actors through their PARENTS pay pal which seemed shady AF to me, when I questioned them about taxes we were never asked back 🤣 So I guess the part where they say they don’t ask back minors who’s parents complain they meant “they asked how to pay taxes” as a complaint. They also don’t (or didn’t) provide set teachers for minors which is, I believe, illegal in California. So they are definitely shady.
@MaryJane-zw5pv
@MaryJane-zw5pv Жыл бұрын
is every child supposed to have a set teacher though? or just the children who work over x amount of hours?.... just wondering because if you are truthful and correct about this, escaping the press of illegal child labor is far more strenuous to fight than underpaid actors. I don't like Dhar. He has always given me SUCH an ICKY feeling. Im sure he has many skeletons in his huge ass closet.

@@MaryJane-zw5pv I think any production hiring minors is supposed to use a set teacher. But my daughter was on set 8-9 hours sometimes for Dhar Mann so they probably should’ve lol. She did a lot of work for them during Covid when she was on virtual school anyways and there weren’t many productions running so we didn’t care but they definitely seem shady. Tbh, I kinda side with the actors on when they walked out because Dharr wasn't there. Yeah sure, they didn't necessarily DEMAND Dharr to be there, but common sense would tell you he SHOULD if they're specifically protesting against HIM. It doesn't take a genius to get that.

It's just like a basic respect thing. You have a bunch of disgruntled workers, contracted or not, who have been with you since the start. You would think that you would get up off your ass, and maybe not go and have a party, and actually give a s*** about the people who have given so much to you. So no they didn't have to demand him be there, probably because they made the mistake of thinking this guy had a soul, let alone any business sense.
@schrodingerskatze4308
@schrodingerskatze4308 Жыл бұрын
I agree, but saying "we would appreciate xyz" is in my understanding usually also only a very polite way to tell somebody they should absolutely do something. So I don't get how they would think it was ok that he didn't come. It's like when I write "I would appreciate an answer" or something like that in a letter. It still means that I definetly want an answer, not that maybe if you feel like it you can send me one.
@testaccount4765

Agreed. Saying "Appreciate" is stating that they would like Dhar Mann to be there, just to say that their meeting is with Dhar Mann. Maybe they aren't giving us the whole conversation as they may have said he has to be there and just added "appreciate" towards the end.

Dharminder Mann is a thief. "In early 2011, the weGrow store was closed, and Peterson filed lawsuits against the company, citing unpaid debts,[1] and accused Mann of running a "hydroponzi scheme" in a Mother Jones interview." "In 2012, Mann was charged with thirteen felony counts of fraud for allegedly defrauding a city beautification program while operating his real estate company MannEdge Properties in 2008 and 2009.[2][3] Prosecutors reduced the charges to five felony counts in August 2013, and later that year Mann pled no contest to the five counts.[13] He was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and restitution." The way dhar mann hires his actors is pretty weird as well. One of the actors shared a video online saying that for you to get a role for a single video at dhar mann you need to sign a contract. The contract says that you have to be on set for 5 days straight, but it doesn't tell you what role you're playing, so you don't know if you'll get a speaking role or a background role (used as a prop basically). After you sign the contract, you may find out that you got a role with only 2-3 lines and there is not much work for you to do. But you have to stay on set for 5 days straight even if you've finished your job. Plus a lot of actors have to book hotels because they don't live in LA - pay gas for their cars because of the distance, and the money they get barely covers that. Anyways, proud to say I never fell for the dhar mann scam💪

I disagree with blaming people for accepting unfair pay. If you have few options than you can be forced to take anything you can get. @@Horizqn_ Yeah, I used to watch him just because the Mikey Saga is just funny to me. Last time I watched was when Mikey pulled the fire alarm. Didn't watch it for the lesson, I watched it cause it was hilariously funny how everything just conveniently goes against Mikey when he had such a perfect plan. Also the ending with Mikey screaming is just funny. Sadly, after that I lost all interest in Dhar Mann. And only occasionally watch to entertain rather than actually learn something since the plots are just hilarious is a good and bad way.
@rickygamingproductions
@rickygamingproductions Жыл бұрын
@@Horizqn_ Hilariously good as I feel some jokes fit my sense of humor. And hilariously bad as in the Plots, most of them you can see what's gonna happen from a mile away. And also the dialogue feeling a little awkward, and then when everything is just painfully convenient it ends terribly for the bad guy. Take the the fire alarm example. Mikey had a surefire way to skip the test. He used his shirt after asking to use the restroom. the cameras were on but shut off prior the the fire alarm and then apparently the police have a device to scan for finger prints, good he used the shirt. Then the teachers drag Mikey with them so they ask him who did it, then he lies and Janitor confirms he was lying, Mikey lies his way out of it, ok. A bunch of plot conveniences, let's continue, so after that, they inspect the alarm to find cheese, then Mr Wilson realizes Mikey was eating cheese and crackers in his classroom. Mikey then tries to lie again saying his hands are clean, but then Wilson realizes he just smeared it on his shirt. Then everything clicks, he used the dirty part of the shirt and gets in trouble for it and probably to Juvie. And the one thing that could've prevented all of this, was him using the bottom of his shirt instead of the top part. Then it turns out Mr Wilson just wanted to play a game, not take a Pop Quiz Like so many conveniences happen that it dragged Mikey down when he had such an easy way out. Sure it does teach the lesson of "Don't assume what's gonna happen" or whatever. But the plot was so contrived and full of stuff conveniently happening, it comes off as funny rather than actually learning something.
@rickygamingproductions
@rickygamingproductions Жыл бұрын
@@Horizqn_ I honestly think that's the issue with most of the plots, they are unrealistic, and when the bad guy should have won, something just conveniently pulls them down. That's why I loved "Teen starts selling drugs to school" it actually felt like a realistic plot, sure his friend saved his life by getting the 10k dollars he saved up working at a store, but this plot isn't full of conveniences and instead only has a small one. Every story usually has convenient stuff happen, only in Dhar's video, he isn't even trying to hide them. And it's just bloated with it. With only a few having plots that don't rely on convenient things happening, and if it does, it's used sparingly sometimes. Most of them rely on convenience rather than using that sparingly

@Liam Lowenthal Well I know I care and you're right, he probably doesn't care because he thinks no matter what, he will continue to get more actors but you know what He will start losing the following because a lot of us love to see the old school actors and that's when the videos were way better back a few years ago, they have been getting worse in my opinion and even August the duck said his views have went down which does happen with any KZbinr and he is getting support but I've been seeing him get less support than more support. So I guess with them protesting, they had to cancel 2 productions, now it is true if you sign a contract and it tells you how much you're going to make you're signing that contract so how can you really complain but at the same time you are the actors who have made this man millions of dollars and hes not the only one who writes the story I mean somebody else pretty much writes the story he probably just comes up with the main idea but of course he started it and it's his business but I don't see this helping him at all in any way and even Carlos quit which was one of my all time favorite actors and a lot of other people said the same thing they're really going to miss him. A lot of the newer actors in my opinion are easier to manipulate because they are younger Teenagers and kids and they don't have to pay the rent so they'll take any kind of money but at the same time these actors need to remember this does get them exposure in case other jobs land in their hands. Darman does not have to be their only job but my question is when they say that working for darman doesn't pay the rent If they are just contract workers should it be paying the rent see that's what's leaving me confused and after all these years why start a protest now maybe it's because of how rich he is getting and how poor all of the actors are that are making him millions so I see it from botbesides but we really need more facts and I do believe as a good boss Dar would not send in his other employees that are the head of HR he would meet with them in person but to me it seems like hes afraid. But then again I believe the actors should have took the time to talk to the people darman sent in because there's a possibility they could have got a pay raise and darman may have agreed to it I was just saying at least 25% more may all of the actors who are protesting are some of the best actors so it's really gonna suck to see if any of them quit or get fired but we shallsea.

A few thoughts on the argument that people shouldn't accept a job if the pay is too low 1. Some of the actors have mentioned that they are now well known to be associated with dhar man's brand/videos which may make it more difficult to find other work that pays better. I've never actually seen a Dhar man video, just commentary videos about them, and I still recognized all of the actors as Dhar Man actors. 2. The protestors have said that many, if not all, of the actors are struggling to even pay rent. I feel like that means none of them are really in a position to turn down work, even if the rate is not ideal. They mentioned that people who spoke up were just not contacted again, so I can see why people would feel a lot of pressure to accept a job at a low rate because they are scared to end up with nothing.

Your point about the actors being at fault for taking the gig when the pay is so low, you didn't take into account the fact the actors may not have any other better options for making money at that time. One of the actors talked about the money being better than driving for a food delivery service, which is probably true. It could also be that they don't have any other stable acting roles so when they get a contract from DMS, they might really have no other better choice at that time. It's not a simple black and white issue in those situations.

I'm curious about how much information and details were changed by the Dharmanstudio PR or by the Dhar man himself. Typically, when a large figure moves slowly to respond, it's because they're looking for loopholes, collecting dirt on opponents, and/or trying to skew data. I say this from experience with high-end wineries. Normally, the staff wants to negotiate a fair pay rate. Employers look for ways to cause turbulence among the staff. Managers try to input lies to make people distrust each other, publicly compare pay rates of competitors which was normally a false rate, lie about reasons for the removal of someone, etc.

Basically what Darr Darr is saying "I don't have to listen to you I'm rich. Actors are a dime a dozen". I think it's Wrong and a Nasty thing to do. Go and Deal with the problem personally. I always listen to what people has to say. Especially if it's an employee.

im sad i used to support him. what happened to my childhood? i was a normal kid during covid, thinking i was learning entertaining lessons. i never thought dhar mann would turn out to be someone like this. i’m just disappointed now.

Dhar was a fraud ever since he started gaining popularity. These stupid videos and disney channel environment were the worst. I will admit when Carl Judie was here and early Dhar, it actually had life lessons. Right now its just the same lessons all over again. I stopped watching once he started going overboard with the cringy videos.

@@SimplyThatGuy12 yeah… i slowly lost interest, carl died and he was one of my favorite actors so it really brought me down. i miss him. dhars vids started to be less about “lessons” and more about fame and gaining likes and followers. :/

My god! I’m shocked, sad and horrified! I would watch his videos frequently and they were so full of positivity and life lessons. I never thought I would see Dhar Mann being cancelled, Not at All! This also reminds me of the Ellen DeGeneres controversy too!
