I'm an adult intermediate and I've always been the lone male in my classes. Like anything, the women are understandably timid at first and that's mainly because many of them have actually never had a male in their class. But their timidness soon evaporates when they realize what I'm there for. After that, it's Martinis after class and tons of laughter with me and my girlfriend. My girlfriend paints and does pottery and I do ballet.

In this video it says he is “different” but really he is not. Just because he likes something that other boys don’t doesn’t mean he is different to everyone else. Everyone is different in their own way. It’s called being yourself.❤

To all the boys out there who love ballet, don't be ashamed of that because there's nothing wrong with being different and if someone can't like you for being you then that's their problem. Also to the dad's that are like this dad, you should love your child for who they are, don't try and force them to be someone different because that's going to backfire on you.

@yogalover2753
@yogalover2753 6 ай бұрын
@user-mi2vh6he6n Exactly, there's nothing wrong with a boy participating in ballet if he wants to. Aside from that, even most football players are doing ballet now because it helps prevent football related injuries. Also, yes, I know it's not a sexuality issue because not all male ballet dancers are gay and they could just be doing it because they like it or they're doing it to prevent injuries in another sport they're doing.

@@channingboy6456 Yes, you should still support him even if he's transgender because he didn't choose to be trans. But I wouldn't put him on horomone blockers at a young age, though if I were you, at least not until he's a teenager.

The female dancers actually need the male dancers and most respect them very much. They are very talented. In fact, originally, male dancers were the only types of ballet dancers. Women weren’t allowed to take ballet, it was considered very masculine. Now, it’s considered quite the opposite by many people.

Fun fact: A male ballerina is called a ballerino in Italian, and a danseur in French. I looked it up because Ballerina sounded like a feminine version of the name, as many names like this have a masculine version.

As someone who has been doing ballet their entire life, I think the stereotype that comes with males in ballet is one that needs to be broken. Many people think if men do ballet, it means they are automatically gay when that’s really not the case. I have met many male ballet dancers who genuinely love the art of ballet despite their sexuality. There have even been studies that show football players and other athletes do ballet to help improve strength, balance, and coordination. So let’s please all remember, gender and sexuality does not define passion. Follow your dreams because with hard work and dedication, you can be anything :)

I feel like the ending takes away from the whole point of guys can do anything girls can do. We see the message the other way around so much, and yet when we finally see the reversed, you make it so he goes back to what his dad wanted in the first place. He pretty much proved his dad right in the fact it was 'just a phase'. I mean, if your a guy who likes sports I'm not saying you shouldn't, but in a video like this, it feels wrong to backtrack on the whole message.
@fawntea
@fawntea 2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. I feel that it kinda “proved” the dads point, and it’s really aggravating to see this, especially if the message should have meant that not everything is a phase and that you can be who you wanna be no matter what. The end just defeated he whole purpose. If you’ve been working so hard to be something like that, the one failure shouldn’t have made him think that it was only a phase, like I mean come on, just cuz he lost once was enough to make him give up on his “dream.” I’m not too happy with this one. He was angry in the beginning about playing the typical “manly” sports, yet he wants to do it in the end, that just doesn’t make sense to me.

@@tehnoobleader7673 no, biologically, it's dangerous BUT a man is scientifically more able to do things like ballet than a woman is to play things like football against a man. There are ballet routines that require men. Ballet was originally MADE for men so again, you are arguing a dead point. Ballet became more about flexibility and feminine when women were able to dance ballet. Also, I myself HAVE played sports against men and they don't hold back as well. Granted, it's volleyball and not football but I still played with men hitting straight at me. It's not impossible either way but it's more dangerous for a female to play contact sports with males than it is for men to do things like dance so again, that also makes your point dead.

@@aislyndelarosa1583 so what your saying is, ballet dancing was for men but when women came in it became more feminine, which means men will have a harder time doing it.... And if it was invented by men and done by men, why don't boys get roles which require manly dances instead of the same old routine? I mean the only reason I've seen guys do ballet dances is to create balance, they are doing it to get better at something else, not to pursue a passion in ballet dancing so that's completely out of the window

In true ballet if there was a boy in class we would all have a crush, this episode is very unrealistic haha a female ballet dancer would never hate a guy dancer and the first class for someone in ballet would not have pirouettes but I get the point of the plot

Does the dad not know that MANY football players take ballet right? It helps with I believe it's hand-eye coordination? It helps with something, can't remember what. PLUS, he's probably gonna have better luck with the ladies since he's constantly around them and hanging with them. ALSO, this short film was rlly cute and all, but pornstars have better acting. But I'm sure this was good practice for these people and look forward to seeing future performances.

As a ballet dancer (female) we adore male dancers. We are always needing more and they are so essential in the world of dance. Also, they are so strong! Even some NFL football players do ballet to work on footwork. Do what you love!
