Miami Mass Choir - Don't Take Your Spirit

Lord, although I am not worthy; please don't take Your spirit. Truly a powerful statement that one should always find their selves crying out. Could we have the faith of Job, and have everything taken from us but still cry out to God to allow us keep His spirit. To have all our family taken, our material things, or even a friend turn against us; would we still trust in the spirit of God to strengthen us. But also after all we go through, could our faith be strong enough to yet say "have Thine own way". Jesus pray that this cup be removed, but yet He said "not my will, but thine, will be done". Then after that an angel strengthened Him. Jesus spirit was strengthen, and we all know what He did after that. Because I've seen what the Spirit can do, I never want to be without it. So Lord, whatever You do, don't take Your spirit from me.

The only thing I don’t understand about this song and a lot of other songs to talk about it this long with the Lord take your spirit from you it doesn’t make sense I love this song I love the choir I love how they sound and I actually like the song is it self to help me understand the lyrics when it says don’t take your spirit don’t take her and anointing form me

Honestly, that is a good inquiry and I hear you. I never thought about it until you brought it up. My mind quickly goes to the story of King Saul when God did remove His spirit from him (1 Samuel 16). However, that's was due to his lifestyle and disobedience. So essentially it is up to us for God to not remove His spirit. Do I hear you.

@@curtisdrummerellerbe9544 Definitely not homosexuality. King Saul just started living in a way that was contrary to God. He was someone who let his role get to his head. At one time he wanted an answer from God, and instead of waiting for the prophet or priest to make sacrifices; he attempted to do it himself. Not to mention all the time he tries to kill David.
