Great vid. I love the "nose down, fly down to the ground", or water as the case may be. DHC aircraft can easily do the "wheelbarrow".

Beautiful plane! I’m curious what percent of Olivia is actually part of the original plane? She’s on floats now. Different engine etc…. Reminds me of George Washington’s hatch. You know the one he use to cut down the Cherry tree. Since then they’ve had to replace the head once and they’ve had to replace the handle. But other than that it’s the original hatchet. 😊

If memory serves, the 'doghouse' (Main Cockpit/Engine Mount framework), the Main Fuselage tubing, the Wings, H-Stabs are all Original. Olivia was re-skinned and the Fuselage modified for the Sealand Alaska Doors and everything else to make her a Mk. III Turbo.

I recognize "little lake" Midland, Port Mcnicoll, Victoria Harbour, Southern Georgian Bay for sure, and a take off run out of Orillia lake St. John.. I think the landing was in the Cognashene area, all in my backyard, awesome place to fly floats!

If I'm not mistaken it was a $1000,000.00 restore and repower with the Turbine engine, avionics, etc.. Likely the airframe is the only original part, but she sure is a sweet airplane!

Historian's should Take Note ! YOO had Many WW 2 Aircraft & Early Jet Example's that were Farmed Out ... We were Required after First Solo 2 Hang our Under Garment Kicker's on the Wall of the Q ' Hut 4 all too View ! [ Women - 2 ] , what a Sight !?
