There is only one dimension to Ovtcharov's game: Out-driving you with power. I guess it works on the majority of matches, but if he wanna do better against good opponents such as Samsonov, he needs another dimension to his game and more importantly use his head to play more.

Samsonov did not "deserve" win, he didn't show the full potential, but this game has become the startline of my respect to him. It's a bit odd considering his age, but I really think that his expierence multiplyed by the aggression can lead him to the best results he has ever achieved.

I've always wondered- when you have an attacker who hits so hard he forces you to defend from like 3 meters away from the table, what stops them from playing a short ball?

+Changmo Kim Higher risk of missing a shot. Even if you don't miss, a bad execution turns the situation against you. A few, or even a lot of regular attacks keeps you in the upper hand.
