Cheers mate, my all time favourite fish! We only explored the fraction of the reef, it drops off to 8-10m. I’ll wait for my buddies to get comfortable at diving then we can venture out n deeper section 😂 there will be a part 2 of this diving trip in a few months haha

Nice exploratory mission 👌. From what I could see you had fairly thick chunks if meat on the hooks meaning less hook exposure. I reckon you would get better hook ups/less dropped fish with a slightly thinner strip. Im going to give it a go next time I head out 😃. No more clips bro😂 I use 50lb braid to a strong swivel then 80/100lb leader. Hate loosing fish.

Cheers mate, I am also thinking maybe it wasn't just the clip that's failing, I may have neglected checking it before dropping it.. idk.. Losing two good fish and expensive rigs got me a little more excited(frustrated) which made me not to think straight and slap a slab of meat onto the rig, but yeah! We can't fix the mistakes with another mistake, and the fish made me pay for it. I might give that clip another go and see what happens .😂 What size reel did you put 50lb line on?
