Professor. What about LADA? I got diabetes Aged 58. I had diabetic Ketonacidosis and dragged off a train thinking I was drunk. I had previously been diagnosed with Type 2 I lost my insulin travelling to London. I spent 3 days with none.(tried to buy it at chemist but no luck) I did not realise the seriousness of no insulin. Is LADA more type 1 or 2 what I am saying is was it my fault or not? Thanks great help for non diabetic for understanding family member with it.

Cut down on carbs. Eat vegetables, nuts, and some dairy. Fast, and exercise.

When obese people starve ourselves, and our weight decreases, we don't stop being obese people. Instead, we become starved obese people. Our energy homeostasis remains profoundly disordered. Insofar as weight loss helps with blood glucose control (and it does, very dramatically), that's an indication that diabetes is not caused by obesity per se, but by something that changes when an equilibrium-weight obese person becomes a starved obese person.

Keep in mind what's considered a normal and healthy diet these days is based on sugars and starches and calories in excess.

As regards the chocolate, perhaps it is dark choclate with no sugar. I eat dark choclate, and feel full after a couplebof squares. Though i am guessing that that headline is not about dark chocolate.

I'm afraid this gentleman is delivering very dated medical information. I feel terrible for mismanaged type 2 diabetics. Increasing insulin levels is extremely dangerous for type 2.
