Good morning Davis I like your video that I told my husband come let’s go and make it just like the bakers do they make their bread in the wee hours of the morning so this morning (2:30 a.m) I when to work. I didn’t have the carbalose flour so I used carbquick instead and the bread came out pretty good. By the way I did order a bag of the carbalose flour so I will make it and let you know. Thank you for the recipe my husband love it his being searching for a low carb bread recipe that actually taste like bread and yours won the taste price. From my kitchen to yours keep on baking and thanks again.

Same, do you know the name of the flour? Is it safe for T2D?

My endocrinologist and diabetic educator both specifically told me that I don’t have to eliminate any specific food.. everything in moderation. Perhaps it’s different for Type 2? I’m Type 1. Hi, Thank you for your explanation. I need to make bread for a diabetic. Amaranth, Sprouted Wholegrain, Pumpernickel and Sourdough are some of the breads suggested to help lower the blood sugar level for diabetics. How is it possible for the yeast to rise without feeding on sugar? I struggle to bake any yeast product and this is a really long process. Is this the proper name of the flour you use in your recipe? The substitutes for all-purpose or whole-wheat are really expensive to purchase especially now.
@janetallen718111 ай бұрын
Hi I want to make this as my son-in-law has been diagnosed as diabetic. I made loads of sour dough bread in lock down so I’m quite used to making bread. However, I’m not sure about adding the yeast and the gum after the dough has been formed and a bit concerned that it will be incorporated properly.

Have never heard of carbalose flour. Is it man made, modified gmo?? And where can I get it?
4 жыл бұрын
Oh my god, thank you so much! I have tested around carbalose for along time and have gotten very close to real stuff but never as good as yours! The other carbalose bread recipes include things like flax seed and coconut flour but I found that they make the dough too wet and weirdly sour and bitter. By the way, why are you using only.5tsp yeast? That is 1/4 of usual amount of yeast
@DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight4 жыл бұрын
I use that amount of yeast because my prodding time is longer. I also keep my dough at a temperature range of 77 - 85 degrees. This also help the proofing time. Hope that helps and you rock!
@DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I tend to proof my breads for at least 6 hours to as long as 24 depending on the bread. Happy Baking and more to come from the channel. BTW, if you have a request, let me know, thanks!

@@DiabeticSavvywithDavisKnight You should also try allulose for sugar substitute. Allulose is sugar by a chemical definition, but because it is a stereoisomer of a fructose, it doesn't get digested as well and yields only 0.4kcal/g. In fact, studies show that allulose somewhat decreases blood glucose

Not that it's extremely expensive, it's about US$10 per loaf and it was frozen. The taste and texture was ok but it's way too expensive. Now that I see this I will definitely give it a go.
