I just started a Summon Necro (Fishymancer style) and came upon your video. Does show the Ubers are doable without the over-the-top end-game items and gave me some incentive to try it out as well. What is the use of the Poison Skeleton Mages you have at the start of the run? To avoid enemies from healing?

Hey glad you liked it and thanks. I invest 1 point into Decrepify. Bone prison is a synergy for Bone Armor and Bone Spear. Bone Armor absorbs more damage which is good for ubers and in general. Bone spear does little damage but it helps during MF runs.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. Telestomping is utilizing the teleport skill to teleport to an optimal location which is very close to your target. You teleport all your minions on top of the target then you have to move to a safe distance while making sure your minions remain on top of the target. I have 3 necromancer uber vids showcasing it. Very nice video But you can replace merc gear with Obedience (40% crushing blow) and Iron golem created from Malice item (100% chance of open wounds + Prevent heal and -100 to monster defense per hit are very good). I think it's cheaper than Bonehew (Fal, Ko, El, Eth, Ith rune are easier to find than Bonehew)

Great question and here comes my long answer: Bone Prison is a synergy for Bone Armor which helps increase absorb. Bone Armor saves you during teleports by absorbing more damage. Bone Prison is also a synergy for Bone Spear. Before I had enigma I was using a teleport staff and sometimes did not want to spend charges of it. Summon necro usually gets stuck with minions on certain places, ie Act 2 Maggot Lair is a nightmare because only 1-2 summons can attack monsters and t takes a bit of a time to get the first kill for CE. I never liked maxing corpse explosion because it only gives you increased radius. So instead of maxing CE or investing in squishy skeleton mages, I just took Bone Spear to get that first kill and spam CE to clear tight corridors. It greatly helped. It was before my enigma and after I got enigma I did not want to respec and showcase in this vid that Bone Spear can actually be "sometimes" useful for a summon necro.

@@Skulm so the range of the carcass explosion through the passive points is sufficient and in principle everything is covered by the passive points. Are the 20 points really worth it from the bone prison? because both the armor and the bone spear apparently only receive moderate bonuses.

@@david119851 There are some really good players who suggest investing 20 points into CE since you get first corpse then you clear everything easier. I personally think 7 to 8 yards radius is sufficient (so basically invest a few skill points into CE and let +skills gear do the rest of the work). If you don't have enigma or teleport staff, I think getting that first kill in tight corridors is much more important, especially against Physical Immune Mobs in Hell difficulty. Your CE will not help you unless you get that kill anyway. Frankly, your essentials are Skeleton Mastery + Raise Skeleton + Revive (a few points is more than ok) + Clay Golem + Golem Mastery + Summon Resist + Amp Dmg + Decrepify. After investing in those, you have a lot of extra points in your hands. I personally think Bone Prison and Bone wall are worthy of investment because of that extra absorb which protects you during teleports.

@@Skulm OK. that brings me to the next question: DI saw in the video that the curses amplify dmg or decrepify were cast from time to time. both seem to have the same effect apart from the fact that the decrepify slows down the opponent. why the use of amplify dmg?

@@david119851 They are not the same. Decrepify causes 50% physical damage taken whereas Amplify Damage causes 100% physical damage taken. Sometimes you use Decrepify to prevent Ball from Tele or even slow down melee attacks to keep merc+minions settled in. You use Amp to max damage.

You are most welcome. Insight Iron Golem is viable but be advised that you need to pay extra attention to keep it alive. Golem Mastery comes in very handy to buff up its hp.

Awesome. I'm making a summon necro too. The only struggle I find is stone skins. And without enigma some narrow maps become a torture. So my farming options are a bit limited. How did you overcome those without enigma?

Amplify Damage Curse is great. I also use a hybrid spec so my bone spears kinda do some damage vs stone skins. Worst case scenario I had a teleport charged staff to get out of sticky situations. Hope this helps!

@@cksh4182 good question. Amplify Damage increases physical damage taken by 100% whereas Decrepify grants 50% damage increase in addition to the slow effect. Essentially Amplify Damage grants more damage but Decrepify is a safer option for the additional slow.

Hey, thank you for your comment. HOTO is pretty good and usable imho. Between Beast and CTA, I would personally suggest prioritizing Beast. The damage it adds is pretty noticeable although I believe you can pull off with HOTO + CTA as well. What really matters is your skill and game knowledge such as knowing when to tele-stomp and when not to. For sake of perfection, I would say Beast then CTA but with a reserved judgement as I explained above.

Hey, I don't think poisonmancer can farm ubers easily. I would not recommend it because Uber Bosses have a lot of self healing+resistances and you need open wounds + IAS merc with Crushing Blow Revives or 10million cows to deal big dmg in order to finish them off. As I stated Uber bosses have great resistances as well. This is one of the crucial reasons allowing the summoner necro (who relies mostly on physical merc+ revive+ skeleton damage) excel at farming Ubers.

@@Skulm Thank you for the quick response and I was just thinking if I'm already nova/summoner. 20 in nova/dagger, 20 and 18 in skele /masterier, 5-10 in revive. 1 into everything else. With plus skills gear, Beast for DPS and Act2 Merc with Obdeince/Might and a few summon gcs. I just didn't see how it couldn't work. Especially since summon necro is about +skills items, Beast and enigma. Psn nova wont do anything of course but I just didn't want to have to respec if I'm doing uber alone anyway

@@dontew90 it might work, I strongly suggest maxing skeleton mastery and investing at least 1 point into summon resist since it helps keep skeletons and revives alive. Also, investing 3-4 points into golem mastery will help you a lot. Summon necro with CE can efficiently clear bosses + any content though (poison can clear pit etc much faster ofc but kinda struggles at bosses) so it is not that bad.

@@dontew90 If we are primarily talking about ubers definitely get your hands on "Beast", it helps with DPS. I use arm of king leoric + CTA + spirit monarch to max + skill before ressing skeletons so they get extra power when ressed then sawp to Beast (even if you swap the wand you lose 1 skeleton but the rest remains as powerful). Enigma is insane but you can also get around with a teleport charged staff/amulet. Your merc should have Gface with IAS and Duress for open wounds. As for grand charms, get summon skillers. Rest should be small charms which can be +life, +res and +FHR (fhr breakpoint helps a lot to escape from mobs via teleporting or even running)

@@SimonKunddal Hey, life leech for merc doesn't effectively work in ubers. I had shael + amn socketed into bonehew but in reality all you want is IAS. You should use duress on merc for proccing open wounds and prevent uber boss self healing. Other than that keep your merc alive via positioning + rejuv pots.

Cows are tanky, but they don't have the oomf needed that Crushing Blow provides. The percentile damage is crucial for defeating the Ubers with a Summon Necro. It might be possible with BiS gear, but almost certainly not with budget gear.

I would not recommend using cows for uber tristram. While it is possible to kill bosses with cows, I prefer the Crushing Blow granted by Urdars or Thrashers. You can kill the bosses faster and easier if you combine them (Urdar/Thrasher revives) with an open wounds merc (also make sure the merc surpasses IAS threshold). Hope this helps and good luck!

In the event you use an amulet, you lose stats and +skills or you manually have to open inventory and replace it all the time which is painful. Naj's staff has 69 charges which are more than enough and you can simply weapon swap, teleport then swap back to original gear. What is your reason for suggesting an amulet is a better option than a staff? Am I missing something?

Beast slightly improves damage. Not to mention the increased speed on Urdar Revives for the Crushing Blow. If you would like to go without beast, you can probably pull it off but you will need a lot of summon skillers and probably more skill point investment in Revive to compensate for the lack of the attack speed by adding more minions to the equation. You will not be able to compensate for the merc damage though so you really need + summon skillers and more minions to be succesfful.

Hey thanks :) I would suggest not investing in Skeleton Mages. They do not do as much dmg as the skeleton warriors and they are very squishy. They can sometimes cause problems with the merc AI as well (ie causing it to not connect to the target). I used skelly mages to create a broader meatshield around my merc especially when fighting Lilith and Mephisto since you do not want them to immediately connect to your merc. You can sort of think skelly mages as decoys. Besides, every little bit of damage also helps :) Hope this helps

Hey, certain affixes do not work inside ubers. Therefore I wouldn't recommend Blackhorn's face if you want to use it for DPS, lightning absorb+res are good against Uber Mephisto though. For DPS, I strongly recommend Guillaume's Face and duress, and if you cannot create duress, crow caw is a good chest armor to get the job done.

Can you do this with a poison mancer? I have a lvl 85 with full Trang set and death web, cta. All resist at 75. About 14 to skills so he rips through hell. I like full Trang because of poison and added fire dmg thru firewall.

Hey, relying on GG gear has its flaws for sure, and I invested so much time I was lucky enough to get 3 BER runes drop. I traded for JAH to make my enigma. For gg gear you need to get into trading. The thing is you can still play with above budget gear and manage to clear UBERS. You just need to make sure you have good IAS + Open Wounds stacked on your mercenary. Then you make sure to revive Urdars or Thrashers for that Crushing Blow. If you don't have enigma make sure to use a teleport staff or amulet for example. You can find creative budget ways to pull off ubers so do not be disheartened and good luck!

@@Skulm I actually got everything for my enigma just trying to find a good base. I got a standers archon with 3 sockets but was waiting for an Ed one but think I might just use that archon. Yeah I need to figure out the open wounds thing just tried durial and he killed my merc in seconds and whatever damage I did he healed right back. I got treachery and insight on merc with anderials visage. On sorc I got tap rasha’s plate/enigma, hoto, monarch, shako, magefist, mara’s Amy, soj nagal ring and gold wrap. Crazy that’s not enough
