Can't believe there's a new D3 season still! Thought 28 was the last. I'm kinda happy about this. I'm still enjoying every season of D3 for years now, meanwhile D4 was dead to me after just 2 weeks.

to each their own... to me d3 is boring, everything drops easy, but most doesnt matter, just sets, and when you have sets ancient sets. There is no gear chase, just paragon chase, and now not even that, just gem upgrade chase. But I guess that's how it is, people want to play casually, just wear what is best in slot and not think much.

But for me atleast, slaying monsters are so much fun with as many builds as possible. The grind in D4 is too much for me and killing monster just feel bad and clunky with boring core skills

D3 is a very polished game compared to D4 and still is fun to pick up for a few weeks into the new season. It took a long time for D3 to be a good game. It’s going to take D4 awhile to catch up to D3 as far as polish and fun factor, which may be too late to accomplish what Blizzard was hoping. It’s sure has lost a lot of interest since launch.

I already have been waiting for season 29 specifically for the new paragon system and cooldown. It's going to open new doors on builds that originally built around cooldown. I'm already preparing for season 29 and using a demon hunter build nobody else uses but it's going to be stronger now. Can't wait to bring it up the leader boards in season 29

I would be curious to see what it is, but keep in mind there are thousands of players theory crafting all the time. It’s very difficult in year 11 of D3 to come up with something no one else has thought of. Natalya and Marauder are already pretty strong for DH, so it’s kind of difficult to see a random build do better than those. But I’m curious to see what it is nonetheless

Agree with the whole video, however in some of your calculations you forgot to factor in the existing 10% cdr. For the crimsons high CDR, instead of getting 78% CDR, its only 76ish.

I had already figured cooldown would be the best just because i mean 40% is huge plus since it was already a hugely sought after roll prior to this it only made sense that it would be even more worth now that it's just free stat. I will say it's good that you did the math for it, even if i wasn't/couldn't follow along cuz i'm absolute shit at math. Got nothing but D's in every math class from high school but that was mostly because i decided to write stories instead of paying attention, but i digress

We don't need the alter. We need the quality of life nodes from the alter. Having played some PTR I really miss the auto pick up of DBs and items. Makes the game play smoother. They should at least add the quality of life stuff as an item the follower can wear and emulate. Such as a legendary pair of gloves that is currently not used for anything. How about gladiator gauntlets. All DBs and non legendary items are picked up automatically. This effect scales with your pickup radius. All items picked up in this fashion are salvaged. This would really give an advantage to casual players playing T16 by themselves. They should also boost all of the starting sets. That should just be the new standard of each season. Try to make the starting sets playable if they're underperforming. Almost all of us are starting WD then switching to sader or wiz once we're ready for the next character. My plan is start WD, then sader, and obviously tal rasha is still a fun amazing build. I'll probably make one eventually. Boosting Jade to make the season start more fun would be great. HECK! Boost the holy cow out of jade! We're all assuming we're going to play angry chicken. I personally love jade. Boost it to the point of being broken. Make jade the next tal rasha. People would lose their mind. Then we have angry chicken to play as well. Who doesn't want that? The only starting set that doesn't need major help is shadow impale. The rest should get major boosts.

After playing D4 for a while coming back D3 felt way to simple. Basicly only holding down RMB. It has been this for a while of course, but now D3 feels way to fast and simple. Looking forward to pick up things atleast😂

Another big boost some builds are getting from this new system, is that with perma CC immunity from 100% uptime on things like wrath of berserker, vengeance, etc...is that we can run stone gauntlets. On raekor, for example, i was able to use zeis due to having perma IP and stone gauntlets, even at only 800 paragon and no guardians set. This will be pretty huge for taking builds into the 140+ range, even at low paragons. Whirlwind with crimsons over zodiac for example, is a nice boost. With stone gauntlets there, instead of mantle, we are tanky enough it seems, to run into the fray to overall have more dps than we would otherwise, and be able to survive 140+, even at 800 paragon. This toughness boost i think will overall be carrying a lot of the armor based builds into higher tiers. I tried marauder with endless walk and coe with stones cubed, and was able to get perma vengeance with this 40% extra CDR, which seems to allow for a 140+ clear. Whereas the normal build just seems unplayable with 800 paragon, at these higher tiers. It is nice because we now have to make choices with paragon. That being said, this is something i'd like to see implemented in the permanent version of the altar of rites. Making choices on each character....like having to choose passability vs CC immunity....boss dmg vs overall dmg...extra globes vs auto pickup, etc. This type of choice making not only gives you a feeling of really making your build special, but also adds a hidden element for leaderboard pushing, that other players could only guess at in terms of copying your setup. That, in my opinion, leaves the game in a great place...and the fact that we can come in and accomplish big things in the season without feeling obligated to grind day after day, is another big element in leaving the game in a happy state for future nostalgia throwbacks. I think there is no way the altar makes sense in combination with recycling old season themes (even if it's mostly QOL features), WITHOUT this paragon ceiling, at least for seasonal play. This paragon ceiling puts the emphasis on gear, which is what this game needed. That being said, I still think echoing nightmares are a missed opportunity for target farming. Having a reason to play the build you want to farm upgrades for, would combine the concept of "pushing" and farming into one special activity, giving you an incentive to utilize the infinite progression of the echoing nightmare. But either way, from my experience in ENs at 800 paragon, it would seem fair to make deaths in HC not kill your character anymore. I also feel the area dmg situation does feel properly addressed, so this helps the servers and seems to make some builds more fun to play. I'd love to see a tick box to toggle off and on individual skills to proc AD, but i acknowledge this would be a fair bit of work to implement and things seem fine enough as they are. Better late than never I suppose!

I’m kind of in that boat. Plus losing all the QoL the altar brought is big. If they kept the altar I would play this season but I think I’ll break until 30 and see how that goes. I hope they bring back ethereal with the altar. These guys should seriously just go nuts and break the game. If they keep the paragon cap the replay value won’t be the same once you get the items you want, so let us all do a 150 in 3 minutes.

I guess D3 slowly outlives its utility (still a great game which I enjoy and I ain't leaving until D4 actually introduces Diablo in some manner), that's not to say they should bury D3, but it's been on for so long, that they should seriously consider leave it as it is and let gamers climb to the top every time once they've reached it...

There may be some but I'm not aware of one actually. You need 3 of belt, helm, pants, boots. (plus bracers which are no part of a class set I think) Tal-Rasha can fit them in but build would get completely broken.

@@wudijo You need a 7 piece set without a belt (so Inna and Immortal King won't work). Firebird Explosive Blast build will fit both sets well, replacing Aughilds. Natalya can fit it but not sure if it even benefits from Crimson. Tal Rasha and Zunimassa technically, but it breaks the build and they end up with a wasted shoulder slot. @tim1259 Yeah, Akkhan works well too. So mostly Firebird and Akkhan?

the 800 cap is useless, at least they could have put it at 1600-2000, I get that you can put it into different areas than normal but being limited to 800 and not being able to increase the main stat more, it is going to negatively effect casual players alot more than what people think, we are not as good as people like wudi who can play using only 800 as a challenge and still clear 150 on hardcore like he did with all classes I believe, I wouldn't stand a chance at doing that on core let alone hardcore with only 800 paragon

CDR has not lower and lower returns. Never ever. 8% cdr is ALWAYS 8% cdr. Amusing that still nobody gets it. Even a Theorycrafter like Wudi does not fully understand it? It seems from this video he understands it but phrases some points here as if he does not. When 100% cooldown time is your base than why should the 2nd source of 10% cdr add another 10% on top? That would make every additional piece stronger than the one before. hence why 10% cdr on your first weapon give you 10% cdr (10% real value) and 10% on your 2nd weapon gives you another 9% cdr (10% real value), cdr of 19% you decreased you cooldowns by 10% 2 times in a row. your absolute value decreases but that doesn't mean you haven't achieved the exact same value in reduction If computer chip producers announce to reduce the amount of materials needed each year by 3% that's the real value, 3% each year. the actual absolute value is smaller each year going forward, forever. however that doesn't mean anything cus it's not really relevant in the argument.
