I've noticed, believe it or not, that the 1-hand circle scythe that increases secondary damage by 300% when bone armor is active increases your damage more than the shadowhook. It's only corpse lance that requires shadowhook/tragouls scythe as it is not a secondary like skele mage is. That adds some flexibility to the simulacrum slot as well, letting you use an alternative rune or even an alternative skill such as blood rush (which allows much greater ease of picking up health globes imo. Also, on that note, consider devour over bone spikes and the passive that has a 20% chance to make a health globe whenever you pop a corpse. With reapers wraps you should be at full essence and health at all time with all the health globes littered across the screen. With this, you could switch up the regen gem to a different one, potentially. If you choose to switch up simulacrum to something else, you can look into a different amulet aswell, such as the one with higher bone armor stacks or a hellfire amulet. My thoughts.

Nice Guide.I replaced Decrypify with Revive. Simply because I just love the Revive spell and wanted to fit it in. I also use the Fear ruin with my Revive to benefit from the cubed ring damage to increase "when enemies are stunned/fear, etc." Works pretty well :)

Devour with life from death passive using reapers wraps would probabbly be much better instead of bone armor. With all those minions you are pretty safe. Could even consider going without a generator. I do really like the use of life per sec in the build tho, choices choices!

Sweet build =) But I'm kind of conflicted about the weapon slot in Kanai's cube. I do have Reilena's Shadowhook but I have another weapon that is called Scythe of the Cycle a weapon that increases my secondary skill damage, in this case skeletal mages to up around 300% while bone armour is active (which I use all the time) any suggestions on what I shall pick? faster resource regen(Reilena's Shadowhook) or more skeletal dmg? (Scythe of the cycle)

I love this build too dear wolf mine is a little different for the third gem and dont have all rings yet but I really love it. i use army of deads to pack enemies and have some issues with skeletons mage cast for the moment but the build is so cool I love it

Been having a hard time enjoying the pet builds of necro, they all seem so slow. Actually almost all of the necro builds seem like slow clears, except for corpse explosion which can't really speed higher than 70. I would love to see your actual gear specs and damage to see what kind of gear is necessary to obtain this kind of damage and ease. Also, what kind of CDR do you have? Is simulacrum up 100%? k moods 4 mages at once that each do 200% damage is not the same as 6 mages at once that only do 100% damage, and that's not even taking the shadow hook into account which is another damage multiplier only for reservoir... Not to mention you're still capped at 10 mages either way so even if it was the same damage (but again it's not even close to as much) it would only be for the first cast.

Hi Wolf. I love this build. Nice work bud! However, there is a big problem with this build on the PS4! The Molten Gizzard gem does not proc the shield. This bug seems to only happen with necro class on PS4. Which I suspect is why I'm struggling to get over GR75. If the gem can't proc, is it a deal breaker for this build? Is there an alternative gem or forget the build until Blizzard fix the bug? Thanks!

Just not graphic nor any indication the shield is active on the character sheet. Yet I do seem to be better surviving some big hits. I cleared a GR83 today! I love this build. Though I did change it a little. I'm using Reapers Wraps and the Life from Death passive. I'm getting so much essence from orbs it's not funny! Cheers.

You need Rathmas shield for hardcore. You might even try to run a build using Army of the dead but you wont really need it. Also for Hardcore you might want to aqquire a hellfire neck for an extra passive. Below you got the passives you need and the extra passive to choose from, for hardcore. Extended servitude : Mages last 25% longer Final Service: Your cheat death. Rathma's shield (Immune to damage for 4 seconds after using Army of the dead, Simulacrum and, or Land of the dead. You GOT to have this passive in hardcore, its a life savier, especially since AoTd will be off cool down literally every 20 seconds, and with the correct skills, Simulacrum is off cool down every 1 minute approx). And your last Passive will be one of the following, up to you really: -Grizly Tribute : 10% loh from minions (you do NOT really need this with this build, Gizzard keeps you alive) -Overwhelming essence, Recommended (40 more essence. This does NOT equal 20% more damage, but it does equal another 120% damage for your singularities, making it better, IF you can keep at max essence before cast, often, then malediction)- -Blood is Power (20% cdr based off missing life. This passive procs from your haunted vision in normal cases but this does NOT happen with molten gizard since it out heals the decay, making you not drop your health at all) - Draw Life , Recommended(10% more life for each enemy around, multiplicative with previous regen, its not additative).

i would recommend using the travelers pledge set as it gives significantly more dps. Furthermore a witching hour is also a great way to ramp up dps. Here is the build I am currently using if u are interested, highest clear with it is gr 96, which puts me in the top 200 necros. This spec adds ALOT of power and is well known. However, it also requires extraordinary fishing of rifts. It requires luck with elite packs, and not much finesse more then pray for a godly rift and nuke the hell out of things. Bear in mind we have Rathma builds clearing 98 WITHOUT simulacrum, but using Decri and tanky builds. In general, as much as I also have tried using witching hour, its a bad idea. You are unable to run past mobs with this build and are unable to try to run in to gather up mobs. Its all about auto casting singularities and agian, pray to the none mortar and vortex gods:) But in a rift where you are left to do damage, the damage cant compare. Ofc I assume you run Frozen land plus Simulacrum, its standard in that build or you cant handle elites. Thing is, we see necros doing gr 95 plus using Life Siphon...we see all kinds of crazy combinations. There is only ONE common factor to all Rathma builds doing GR 90 plus: We all use Singularities. The rest can be changed depending on situation:) You do need to lower survival for more nuke the higher you go though, and if your like me at 1100p, then you need to do this. If your 2kp plus you can add in more survival since your Int pool make up for damage losses.

Nice primal ancient Jesseth Scythe. I have not had one primal ancient drop since the necromancer was available. I have dozens of hours in. I know the drop rates are real low to began with but it seems worse now. I would get one to drop every couple days now like nothing going on two weeks.

Sorry to crash the party: The only skills you want to roll on your gear is Skeleton Mage damage. This is more important on helmet then 6% more critical strike, unless your below 50% crit. Your shield should give you 8 to 10 etc. For shoulders, belt and chest just roll in 15% life, and hope you have CDR on your shoulders anyway, its not relly needed. Run a diamond (Borrowed time passive from decri adds alot of cdr). Command Skeleton damage is not worth it over % Life or CDR. So its very simple: Boots and Helmet: Skeleton Mage damage. Thats it.

Realize I used my sons account to write lol, (NoahNC2) For Traq instead of Rathma. It wont be as efficient. First off, your skeleton minions will not get the 2500% damage bonus, and secondly, Singularities is by far the strongest skeleton mages. Believe me I have tried with archers, cleared gr 89 at P1k before the hotfix, tried after and its no big difference, some. Singularities is where its at. All in all, do we need Haunted neclace? Been running with it for a while and majority of the time even on GR 90 plus, elite packs die within the original time span of 15 seconds. But at times not indeed. So what does Endless walk set give? Well, above all, it gives additional toughness over Haunted + COE, when running around, gathering mobs. And you are in general rather stationary as Rathma, and as such will most of the time have the 100% damage bonus up. I have a well rolled endless walk set but I still dont see any real progress over haunted + COE, and when you get higher up those extra 15 seconds of Simulacrum is quite huge. The cooldown on Simulacrum starts ticking as soon as you use it. Adding 15 seconds litterally means 15 seconds shorter cool down on the ability, apart from 15 seconds additional use. This means you do not need to save it for elite packs but I pop it when density is high or Im in a tight spot. If I encounter an elite pack I can start clear around it and by the time I normally want to pop it to focus on elites, which is very important: You need to command on the elite pack, skeleton mages will often follow the command as well, its ready. Esoteric over Gizzard: I love Thy flesh sustained with Gizzard, but without Unity, you can get 1 shot higher up by mortars and other affixes. Using Grizzled passive for 10% life on hit from minions, together with LoH on 1 more item, gives a very noticable result. Esoteric really saves you hard many times. However, if there is NO one shot mechanics in the vicinity, nothing beats the Gizzard combo. I have stood in gr 93 with 20 mobs around me, life going like a JoJo, and simply not dying. But with my luck I will always have a floor or two with vile tempresses and bombard minions. There is so many different variations you can play around with. You want glass cannon you swap out esoteric or gizzard for Zeis stone of vengance. Your skeleton mages is a spell, not a "pet" per definition, and as such they benefit from proc effects. It appears they can proc the stun from zeis stone of vengance, just like your Skeleton Archers get the greeze effect from FrostBurn. Not 100% sure about zeis, I have to test this but its very very popular in Rathma setup. Regarding COE. I seen only a handful using it. Its possible few yet realize COE on necromancer only have 3 cykles. And since we use both physical and cold, you get ALOT of bang for your buck. Your skeleton minions do decent damage once you have your full bonus up. But cant really compare to Mages ofc. You can also swap out a skill and run Frailty "Scent of blood" rune, for a huge damage increase. Those 15% is multiplicative and its very very noticable, not to mention you instantly kill anything under 15% life. But essence becomes an issue with 2 curses plus singularities unless you run devour and reaper wraps. If you run devour and reaper wraps, you always want to run the passive giving you health gloves when devour corpses. If you run endless walk and dont want to run Bone Shield. I would reccomend Land of the dead together with simulacrum. Land of the dead "frozen land" plus simulacrum, means during your simulacrum, you do triple damage, on everything, since they are frozen and hence proc krysbin. This is why with the combo you burn down GR 95 bosses at only P1k to 1.5k in less then 10 seconds. I tried it yesterday in a gr 93 and killed a double yellow Elite pack during its 15 second duration.... The options for Rathma is far more then any other set I have seen. You have SO many combinations and they are ALL viable and GOOD. This is why the Rathma set is just incredibly fun to use.

Its not uncommon in a Rathma build to use BloodRush. You simply take away bone armor or any other skill and use it. Decri, BloodRush, Simulacrum, Command, Singularity, Bone Spike. There you have a standard blood rush Singularity setup.

Here on EU alot of people have cleared 98 with Rathma, Singularity build. Of course they vary. I completed a GR 93 today at P1100, though I have to admit I switched out Gizzard for a zeis stone of vengance and prayed to the none molten gods.:) The build Wolf have listed is EXTREMLY good also for groups. It makes you so incredibly tanky, you have no problem being in a bad position. Even at GR 90 in 4 man, normal mobs can not kill you with the passive and bone armor "thy flesh sustained". And...your doing damage on par with an archon wizard, while tanking like a ZDPS monk. Its pretty sweet.

This build is very funny but have a such a blind spot, no escape skill e 0 survability, every effect direct to you is a istant kill. I have try some different options, compas and rose and stay always on movement, but 1 enemy jump on me and i died. I have try whit unity but still the mob oneshooting me. I have 1560 paragon end all set ancient, but the 90 is impossible, sorry for my english, im not a pro in both :D

I can't seem to make the singularity mages work well, since they kill my essence pool entirely and I have to build it back up. So I've been using the archers and life support runes.

+Robert Hall with bone spikes and shadowhook if u aim at a decent group of mobs you can get to full essence in 3 hits. I struggled with it at first as well.
