As of 2.1 there is a 100% chance that Greater rift Guardian will drop a legendary something (item, gem or follower item) so the best way to get legendaries is to do lower level greater rifts. All you need to do is get key stone of trials, activate it and portal to base. This will give you greater rift level 1, in order to get only one level you need to finish the greater rift after 4:50 mark. So it means that you get a legendary every 10 min.

At lvl1, mob density is too low so you spend 99% of time running between mobs. It takes way too long. I'd suggest regular Rifts at the highest lvl you can beat in less than 7-8 minutes solo. Basically if you can faceroll everything at t5, but have to pause to kill groups at t6. t5 might be more efficient over the long term.

Hello man, i have a question, and i would be grateful if you, or anyone who has a great deal of knowledge on the subject answers me, at 4:08 you mention "Torment specific legendaries", can i find a list of those, on a site somewhere ?, and i guess "torment specific" means they only drop on torment 1 or higher dificulties? what about the "pre-torment" legendaries, wich are they? I know there's a item list on the diablo 3 forum, but i don't see any indication of where and on what difficulty they drop.

I'm currently 930k on sheet clearing t3 rifts in 8-15 mins the xp is crazy as well as the legendary drops. I agree with what's said on this video farm the shit out of normal you may not get the torment sets or special legs but you can gear up quicker and be able to clear torment efficiently much faster than dying in torment for hours for very minimal drops

nice guides as allways! i'd say the perfect difficulty is where elite/champ packs die within 15-20 seconds. in a group you can step this up by one level or depending if your group has strong buffs. like witchdocs totem, you can step it up by 2. we're farming at t4 atm. elite/champ packs die within 10 secs if they are well stacked. otherwise around 15 secs. another point to consider is. if you surivei one rift without potting you are ready thoughnesswise.

Please advise, From what i am hearing, it is better to play at a lower T level in rifts to improve efficiency, which would ultimately lead to more drops per hour? My understanding is that the higher the level the better the drop, all-be-it, not necessarily the higher the rate of drop. Further if for example a player can do a T6 Rift in 5 mins, than should that be the proper setting for farming legendary items? Or by my initial point should the player just play at a T1 setting? Yeah, im clearing norm and T1 at almost the exact same rate with my main build, but then... I made some tweaks and now I literally can run through norm difficulty almost never even stopping for a mob (50% uptime on epiph with 90% frw with tailwind)... I'm a monk, so my T1 sets are kind of garbage. Will be doing norm runs until 2.05 which I hear is going to buff Torment runs (more shards, drops, ect)

It takes me probably 30% longer to do T1 Rifts than Normal. I'm fairly well geared. The reasoning for me is less loot related, it's nice for the torment legendaries, but I'd rather the HUGE increase in XP to increase my Paragon quicker. Between the shrine, the helm socket, and cains 3 piece I have a lot of bonus XP and it makes all the difference in the world. In a couple of hours I can easily get 5-10 Paragon levels.

Yep, I do T1 for that exact reason: the XP. I clear a Normal rift in 8 minutes, T1 in about 14. I'm being less efficient for Legs, but more efficient for XP. It's a nice middleground, imo.

If you can clear t1 in 15 minutes or less you should be in there (max of 15minutes including low mob density runs), if not, stay out of t1 untill you can do it in that time frame. Soloing is better than carrying but if your group is near your farm level, by all means group. If something drops for the wizard (Maximus for example) and you are on your crusader guess what? They can trade it you! Mobility is high priority, since the faster you get to the pack the faster you can kill it which means more legs/hour. ~Currently clearing t4 in 10 minutes (t3 in a group with similar dps 10-15 minutes).

I run act 2 bounties and usually get 3 to 5 legendaries a run... Of course I am also on console but, if I remember correctly act 2 was also a legendary run for d3 before reaper if souls. I also tried to run rifts on all acts and have had one legendary drop.

I got roughly 40+ legendaries the first week, most sucked, but I enjoy having them drop whether they are good or not. I was always getting 3 or 4 legendary a day. Now after the change, I'm lucky to get 1 legendary a day.

I like the part where "high density" in rifts is mentioned, considering it's very common to run into empty rifts where you have to spend "ages" (relative to the tempo of diablo games) just to find mobs. Also for some reason Kadala hasn't handed over a single legendary to me since she got buffed despite me having given her around 2k blood shards xD wrong end of the RNG for me I guess :p

I've been stuck with same gear for some time now. I decided to do campaign in torment, and i only got at most 5 legendary items. Only one item was good. Very disappointing. I had been doing rifts previously but i would keep getting the same drops. Then today i did three runs and nothing lol. I was life wtf especially after one of the rifts I got to kill 7 goblins out of like 11 and the boss.

I suppose I'm of the camp that would prefer T1 (though it won't take me DOUBLE) over normal. And Rhykker, I think that you aren't taking into consideration certain things with your normal > T1 advice. Upgrading to the non-T legendaries first, then afterwards to the torment ones is intentional repeat gearing. It's like farming legendaries below level 70 - you KNOW they are worse than what you could easily access. Surely this doubling of 'Time to BiS' will be less efficient? And of course - fun. I know it's only about efficiency here but I'd much rather sacrifice a portion of efficiency for some more fun while I play. And it's not fun to feel like there isn't a lick of challenge.

Fun should always come first :) But I can't tell people how to have fun -- I can only tell them how to be efficient. Some people, after a hard day of stressful work, find it most fun to just plow through Normal with 0 challenge :) I do T1 rifts even though they are less efficient for legs because they are more efficient for Xp for me. I clear normal rift in 8 minutes, T1 in 14. That's less efficient for legs, but more efficient for XP, so I'm happy with that tradeoff.

ThatBamaDude14 It depends on your stats and level, i was in the same boat as you when i beat the game like 2 weeks after getting it. I had a level 61 crusader with around 45-50k dps and i was able to do T1 although it took a bit to beat enemies. Overall, the best thing to do would be either A) Go down to like normal/hard and set your game to public bounties so you can get super fast horadric caches, or B) Host or Join games with other players doing T1 rifts, you probably won't be "pulling your weight" exactly and will have to sit back from the action a little but you'll start to quickly build up good gear, i've went from that lvl61 50k dps character to a lvl70 (75 paragon) character with 500k dps in just under a week of swapping between low difficulty bounties, and T1/T2 bounties and rifts.

My barb has 600k dps unbuffed dual wield lightning spec and depending on what build/difficulty i use, it can go up to 40mill toughness with shield and passives but thats only for T4 and higher. I was wondering should i just farm T1 since its super easy and i wouldnt see a drop in my efficieny at all from normals, its just that normals is kind of a joke tbh.

Either do the math (you need a pretty big sample test run for each tho)... or just do it "by eye"... either way, I think Torment I would be the best bet... fastest clear times = way bigger xp/gold/drop rate per hour at 2.3x in T1 rifts than 2.65, 3,05, 3,5 and so on for T2, T3 and T4.

The only thing I hate about diablo is how subjective loot feels. Doing Torment I it feels like I get a legendary every 4th run, whereas T2+ it feels like I get at least 1 legendary per rift. And even though I'm very aware that T1 should give me more overall it still feels less effective :D

Oh how the times have changed - now even the most casual of players (like myself) are getting full 6pc sets in 2 - 3 days. I just went from lv 1 - lv 70 and paragon 250+ and I started the char Saturday. Many will say 'this is how blizzard ruined the game' - I beg to differ - this is how they made it fun. The whole point of d2 and d3 (to a lesser extent) is getting buff, owning mobs and looking for that one perfect piece of gear.

This is an elementary design flaw that undermines all of the work put into creating great content by providing the player no incentive to value that content. I would expect more from Blizzard. Make max item stat rolls scale with difficulty - done.

That is simple, when you compare 100 legendary drops on normale to master the ratio is 1-1 you will get 100 legendaries at same time in master and normale. the reason is, that you don't get increased drop rate between normal and torment, only extra gold and XP.

Volvo Pls Find a group. That's a good one. Torment is infested with Leaching anchors. ~200k dmg and 1.5m toughness and it's actually worse in t2 and t3 than in t1. I have even seen 100k dmg on t3, like wth. And yes i'm talking about lvl 70. Average dps in randoms at T1/T2/T3 is 300 - 400k dmg. :| Good luck finding a group, cause you will waste a lot of time doing so :3

What is your toughness? You can probably handle Torment, but you would have to time it to know for sure. If it takes you 10 minutes on normal to do a rift, it can take you 11.5 minutes on T1 while retaining the same efficiency.

well it depend. the dps on paper is not showing the right dps (for mine i had 1.5m dps but it doesnt give me the dmg i want. That is on paper) If ur dps is 900k probably u could kill quite fast in T1. Depend on Torment level i could farm all the way to T5 without dying (nv try t6 but shd be fine) but it took me nearly 20min to farm pear rift for T5. That is inefficient. So if i am u i will rather farm at T1 or 2. It is pain in the ass doing T4 and above. Speak of Torrent level i actually tried to do T4 when my dps was 200k. Initally it was ok at the middle of act 5 it is insane lol.. that is when i first played ROS and i tot well T4 is like MP5 in pre ROS and i got my ass kick in the middle of the game

So I was just in a group, someone got 5 legendary drops, and 1 recipe off of Zoltun Kulle on T1. I have heard of people getting multiple drops, but I have put a considerable amount of time in this expansion and have seen at most 3 drops off of diablo first time kill on campaign. Honestly farming normal isn't going to be max efficiency either at your level/paragon. i've you've got at least 50k dps then doing hard/expert is definitely better, if you got 150k dps or more then master is more efficient, 200-250k dps or more is when T1 starts to become more efficient etc.. I'm level 70 paragon 75 now and i've got 520k dps and doing T2 is the most efficient for me, T1 is faster but the higher drop rate of T2 makes up for the slight speed difference. I can clear a T1 rift in 10 minutes or so, while clearing a T2 in about 14.

Spend a week or so just doing boss runs in adventure mode on the highest difficulty u can handle to get some decent legendary items, then once u have around 500k+ dps and good res all and def, move to rifts on t1 or t2. within about 3-5 days u should have gotten good enough items to handle t3 rifts in about 15-20 mins easy, thn gradually move up from there. Thats how i did it. (lvl 70 paragon 378 barb) (I've done hundreds of bounties and rifts they are great exp)

Thanks guys,yea I've been playing a LOT like a LOT.Haven't played anything else since i got my diablo,its like crack to me lol.THE best action-rpg ever imo. Have 700k dps buffed with battle rage bloodshed,and it climbs up to 800k with the bane of the powerful gem, right now im paragon 112, 2 days ago fully completed my raekor set, and im fucking shit up with furious charge lol, doing T1 though? You think i should move up to T2? Got 4k vitality, 17k armor(we don't habe toughness im on ps4) and have war cry invigorate as a healing buff.Critical hit chance is 48 percent. Yesterday started my first ever witch doctor, always played with a barb since i got it and im at lvl 23,really fun!

Get a group who also use level 70 barbs and do rifts with them and gear each other up 1 by 1 it is really fast considering your essentially getting 4 times the normal legendarys

I got like, 6 legs on one rift. Also, just search bodies, chests, and barrels. I got a cinder coat from a dead body, as well as a restraint ring from a barrel, or maybe I'm just lucky :p

They haven't doubled it... they have quadrupled it... 25% to 100%... so 2x better chances than in other modes... and on torment I it 2,3x... (2 x 1.15). Torment II is 2 x 1.15 x 1.15 so 2,65. I don't recommend going further than Torment II-III, even if you can handle it well, because 1. clear times will be much slower = less xp/gold/leg per hour AND 2. rifts can be pretty random, you might die in very random situations just because the rift specific map layout with some mobs that own on it.

Except the 25% was an increase already from 100%. So before it was at 100% and then it went to 125%, which then when up to 200%. 200 is not 4*125

once you're level 70 no matter what difficulty you do items are 70

There are specific items you can only get in torment modes. But the items should all be lvl 70 regardless of difficulty as long as you are 70+

That all depends on how long it takes you to clear content on normal relative to master. You are correct -- you shouldn't be farming for legs until you are max level. I can play on expert no problem, it just takes me too long to kill a treasure goblin and seems to take long to get good crafting material and level your blacksmith. RoS definetely a good buy

There are better Legs that are Torment-only, and its really easy to find gear to farm Torment I, I was lucky to find Raekor's last season, so I could farm up to Torment V without a problem and not taking too much time
