i can confirm this, right now i had a ring with fire damage and chantodos will arcane damage, my wave of force was fire, then i removed the ring and wave of force became arcane, for it to be cold u must have anything on ur gear with the higher cold %

Yes this is correct. If you have two different elemental % items it will choice the higher % element. So you want cold damage % to be highest.

@@ZxChrono also to proc the 4 elements passive u will need the wand with Fire damage and 2 itens(bracer + neck if possible) to give cold damage %, this build isnt easy to set up this way as u will need luck for ur wand be ancient +fire dmg or primed so u can re-roll it until fire damage, to be honest i will not try for this as its too much work to set up the itens, the build is easy to use

quick food for thought for people stuck with the firebirds set: The season start for me was pretty average at best, felt very lackluster due to our starter set this season. At some point i thought about just using all the random ancients i found instead of the set and using the trusted meteor shower/etched sigil/desintegrate build until i get my Vyrs going. The season buff definitely helps out with this mediocre starting set - ditch it and see the results yourself.

Same here. I used LoN and anything that works in conjunction with etched sigil (cast a spender when you channel) that buffs spells like meteor/arcane orb/twister/etc. It all really depends on what items you find though :/

@@LongToad indeed, it does depend on what you find. If you focus your gambling early on completely on Orbs for 25 shards, you'll get there in no time. It shows though, how weird the firebird mechanics work in a fast paced game like D3 where speed is cherished over everything else. I heavily dislike the set and how it works. I shouldve rolled something different at the start to get going way quicker.

Looks like it changed to squirts necklace / convention of elements combo this season (at least what I'm seeing on Xbox) I just broken GR 100 with the travelers/compass though so it still works pretty decently. Thanks for the inspiration to make a Wizard this season, it's been fun!

Using Compass ring and Travelers as well. Makes a huge difference in my eyes, you don't get that element damage boost but you get a nonstop defense and damage increase

I was using this build but it works fine until you reach GR 107 or something like that, then you need to change a bit for a more defensive build, with Storm armor/shocking aspect, familiar/sparkflint and using Halo of Karini, and Ashnaggar as bracer. The passive Galvanizing ward and Unbreakable will are good choises too. Also Gogok is a lot better than Esoteric or Pain Enhancer since Gogok can help you with the CDR and the atk speed and doesn't matter if you're fighting a lot of monsters or the Guardian, the speed is the same.

this build is insane, if you got enough CDR and get the hang of timing archon right, you never dip below 300mil thoughness, peaking at around 4-5billion toughness, and dmg peaking around 3mil.

If I may make a suggestion, swap out Pain Enhancer for Gogok of Swiftness. Pain Enhancer hard-caps at level 25 since it is only really there for the level 25 ability. The bleed damage doesn't amount to much, and no mater how much you buff the damage by leveling the gem, it never really compares to the damage you're dealing with Archon and the destructive waves. With Gogok, you get a solid, consistent 15% attack speed buff in all situations, whether you're facing mobs or a single target, but you ALSO get a survivability boost from it's additional dodge chance that can easily be brought up to almost 20% at level 80, plus the level 25 bonus giving 15% cooldown reduction makes getting back into Archon even easier. The attack speed buff works triple-time by letting you gain Chantodo stacks faster, which lets you go into Archon sooner, which allows the Archon stacks from the previous transformation to overlap for longer, which means more higher damage and more kills, and the attack speed buffs Chantodo waves. Plus, faster attack speed versus bosses also translates into upkeeping "Deflection" stacks more efficiently. Pros: -Consistent, all-situation attack speed buff -Higher attack speed buff during single-target encounters -About 20% dodge chance at all times -15% more cooldown reduction -No positioning (e.g. "within X yards") requirements Cons: -Overall lower attack speed buff during mob encounters Also, what about swapping Furnace in the cube for Orb of Infinite Depth, and swapping Black Hole for Explosion - Chain Reaction? Less situational. Black Hole requires large mobs to get a decent buff, but OoID gives a fairly solid 40% damage buff and 80% defense buff, and all you have to do is hit any enemy, which keeps it consistent between mobs and bosses. Plus, it has generally higher damage buffing since grabbing 14 enemies in a Black Hole isn't as common as one would think, and it gives another defense buff that Black Hole lacks. Black Hole lasts almost twice as long, but is far less consistently useful AND doesn't give a defense buff. The damage lost from the cubed Furnace doesn't make any difference because most rift bosses are solo fights, meaning that Furnace + 1 BH stack = 53% damage buff, which is only very slightly lower than OoID's 40% damage buff and the latter also provides 80% defense on top of that, AND Chain Reaction counts toward resource-spending attacks to cooldown Archon and add Chantodo stacks faster. PLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSS, it deals fire damage, so boom, throw cold damage on your weapon and that's all four elements for Elemental Exposure.

While i aggre with the gogok thing i dont think explosiv blast is stronger. you have the furnace ALL the time in a rift guardian fight aswell wich amounts to alot more dmg overall then the 6 sec buff you get from OoiD. and since this is a pushing build where rift guardians and elites whil last a while the furnace will be stronger. for a speed build its an entire diffrent story

Doing this set on season 21, but I'm having an issue with archon uptime. What skill am I supposed to be using to proc the orz? Every skill seems to have a cooldown. For now I am subbing in ray of frost and that seems to do it ok, but otherwise I have almost 30-40 seconds of downtime and that of course drops the archon stacks.

This video was recorded on PTR. Rhykker mentioned it. They fixed it on live server. The waves aren't going to pulsate faster now, but the more a.speed you have, the more dmg each wave will deal.

The S18 updated build uses Strongarm Bracers. How does the build benefit from them? Am I missing something? Also, why Slow Time over Teleport? Also, how exactly does the build benefit from Elemental Exposure? As far as I can understand, you get 1 stack from the obvious Cold damage, and you can have a weapon with Fire damage for another stack. I can see no Arcane damage, and the periodic Lightning strike from the Storm Armor affects only 1 enemy, so it seems it's not worth it. IcyVeins uses Unraveling Will instead. Please enlighten me.

Viktor Vaszkó not sure about element exposure myself or the bracers. Instead of the bracers I’m running the ones from Aughild’s Authority, another piece from that set, and the RoRG. That gives me a 15/30% damage taken/dealt boost along with 30/30 against elites. It has worked out really well. Unwavering though does require you to be standing for a second and a half to get the toughness and damage boost. I find I am always on the move though. I’m considering trying out cold blooded. I’ve also mostly ran with teleport instead of slow time, and storm armor. Might try energy though. I’ve ran with Galvanizing ward for a while and it was a nice aid in keeping the necklace buff from squirt’s up.

followed the video guide exactly almost have all the gear rolled correctly and I get just smoked right out of the gate. I guess im playing it wrong. wanted to use this as a T16 farm build. cant even survive the first group of non-elites... Even in archon form i have zero survivability. to me it seems this build requires the perfect rolls for attack speed and cool down to be viable. as soon as archon is over it feels like a life time of waiting to get the cool down reset. What i am seeing on screen isnt be reflected by the build. going back to Typhon cold hyrda

Mr. Rhykker, Thanks for all of the videos. Learning the game has been very helpful thanks to your videos and the videos of many others. I'm noticing that after I leave Archon and I have my stacks, my Arcane Torrent drains my Arcane Power EXTREMELY quickly. Have you noticed this? Is it a bug? It only drains very fast after I get my stacks. Once their gone, it's slow again. It makes it really difficult to get your Chantodo stacks back between Archon cooldowns.

Arcane torrent reduces cooldown on archon. It's not that hes staying in archon longer, its that he's reducing his cool down so you can basically spam it.

Are you sure you have that on? If youre missing any gear from the build, its not going to be as efficient obviously.

I'm a bit confused you said that to maintain the elemental exposure you need fire on your weapon but when you showed the gear the weapon was cold, as well as the bracers. So does that mean we will not get the extra 5% from a fire resource?

I think that was more of a hypothetical scenario, because if you run with this set in the video you will not get the Fire damage. He acknowledged that this set only has three of the four, but offered a hypothetical solution if you do want to exploit the full benefits of the elemental exposure. You could just roll/enchant your weapon damage to be Fire (example instead of +1,000 Cold Damage, replace with +1,000 Fire Damage).

Why get attack speed on weapon and CDR on ring, when the max attack speed roll for both is 7%, but on weapon you can get 10% CDR, where on rings the max roll is 8%?

Because attack speed on weapon is multiplicative with attack speed from other sources (vyr's 4-set bonus, Gogok of swiftness and paragon in this case). Attacks per second = (base weapon speed * weapon IAS) * (1.0 + Increased attack speed from other sources)

Hey i have another question, how do i suvive with energie armor? i sill manged to beat 123 rift with kitari ring but now i need concection of elements ring for more damage. there is no way ever i suvive big pulls even with strengh gems and blur together. i just die like a fly even with much archon stacks. thx for answers

Quick Question : Why Cold damage ? Is the Chantodo effect , cold by default ? Couldn't we use Arcane or Lightning damage ?

i really wanna know this too, i cant think of many things cooler than this build but arcane, with the cascade torrent rune instead of static discharge. might drop a few levels but hey, thats the price of S T Y L E

Because cold crit harder than arcane. 20 stacks of chantodo + convertion of element (cold) + black hole (you get around 40-50 enemys caught, each enemy increase the next cold dmg by 3%) + stand in occulus + pop archon = absolute apocalypsis. I have meh gear and my highest crit was 780trillons. Followed by 30-45 trillions of chantodo aoe.

@@juanposada5171 You can do the exact same thing with Arcane damage. Use the arcane rune of Black Hole , and use the Arcane rune on Archon.Use the abilities the exact same way you stated.Damage will be waaaay higher.

@@konstantinospetrakis2418 to be honest, i havent tried the arcane archon yet. I think i did a few days back but it wasnt the same. Now that i'm fully ancient/primal geared might hit harder. I'll give it a.shot when i get home and see if There is any diference. What i like about cold archon is the survivality, mobs getting stunned/slowed is priceless

Teleport Calmity outside of archon. And one Archon rune make your ability (some of them) do stun as well.

When I first tried the Vyr Set without Chantodo's, I was actually expecting it to be amazing right out the box. I mean the bonuses all sound amazing! But when I tested it I was like, "This is the worst set!". Then, I noticed the Chantodo's Wand set bonus and was amazed how much of a difference it makes. Problem is, it feels like the Chantodo's might as well just be a part of the whole damn set! By itself, it doesn't do enough damage. It actually feels pretty pitiful. Then, I dropped some new gear into building a Meteor build and found its far more consistent (maybe faster in some cases) since you don't need to rely on getting those annoying 20 stacks outside of Archon mode - which can be scary. I just wish they would stop adding 'sets' to cover the fact that they just don't know how to truly allow for build diversity. Everything they introduce just has to be some ridiculous multiplier to make a skill viable and then? It just feels like you're playing with another set piece - even if its using legendaries over set pieces. Just the way I see it, though. The meteors are impressive and much easier to build and use CoE/SoJ for big dmg boost to elites.

I so agree with the build diversity part. I want to play the style I like (going full Archon), but people keep telling me there's a more powerful set (but with a much different play style, e.g. Firebird), well, fuck that, it annoys the hell out of me.

@@SirWolf2018 I used the firebird set on PS4/PS5 version and it was absolutely riduculous. What's lame about that is that all the end game becomes is trying to get these particular set pieces with the best stats possible. All your other skills and the uniqueness of your abilities becomes obsolete. So what the hell make a Wizard for if all you will end up doing is running firebird...

But yeah I actually climbed to about GR 125 without really optimizing stats of the firebird set. Just shoot and teleport all day while tornadoes burn up everything. I mean its awesome to play with that power but yeah...you know what I mean...
