If I'm not wrong, the first 'humans' were the Nephalem. Born with souls, from a union of good and evil, demon and angel alike. The Nephalem, born from/created by Lilith and Inarious. They were then debuffed and their descendants became the humans.

I believe it was Inarius who tempered with the World Stone, attuning it so it would sap the divine power of the Nephalem, weakening them until over generations they became mortal. As to the original comment, though....Inarius definitely did not see it that way. He was afraid of the power the Nephalem wielded. They would be stronger than either Angels or Demons, and this strength in part came from their demonic nature. And he was afraid of them.

The part about Deckard Cain always makes me sad and proud to have known the entire story of Deckard Cain. He was with me in Diablo 1, helping me figure out the magical natures of the items I found in that dark labyrinth. His voice a ping of sanity amongst the horrors of the dark. Then he was again of great aid in Diablo 2, once again showing me the workings of the items I found - but also being a font of knowledge to help in our journeys. His journey with me would end in Diablo 3 - so much time having past that some thought him senile, preaching about an 'end of days' no one else believed was coming. Despite a lifetime of hardship and horrors that most men would've avoided - he stayed the course and gave the ultimate sacrifice for it. Rest in Peace Deckard Cain, Greatest of the Horadrim.

A lot of people have been shitting on diablo 4, and its my first diablo I've played. And personally, I love the story and how much lore you learn in game. People don't appreciate that, where as me (a destiny player) fucking love the fact that I can hear these story I Entries in game for the most part. I think this narrator's voice was chosen as a hommage to DarkLORE Dash. Such a ruff, very uncommon narrator voice. But also DarkLORE's voice is not typical narrator voice, I can see how they are similar.

CRINGE!...... u do realize the whole intro is one big retcon right?.. first telling us the world came into being through the splitting of the prime good and evil, then saying lillith is the mother of sanctuary.. So sanctuary isnt a part of the world before lillith screws an angel... whats worse is the fact a minor demon(lillith) would be strong enough to destroy a greater angel.... because what? female demons are stronger than others? its all a "just because" with these actiblizzion tards, no rhyme or reason to anything. no concistency or congruence with previous games, because that would only weaken their current agenda. then telling us the world stone was never a part of sanctury, which just further serves as confusion... why would it be in the worldstone keep then? what? they just moved it to pandemonium fortress, which is IN HELL,! Not even in the same realm as mount arreat - because they fckin forgot?? LOL, u guys are so simple to please.. good for u.

There are reviews saying that the Diablo 4 story just makes the reviewer players want more and hope that better stories will come in Diablo 4's DLC. I assume there are only a few Lilith cutscenes and the Inarius vs Lilith conflict at the game's end will not be satisfying. We know Diablo only returns as a skull to be used by Lilith as a weapon.

I think (or maybe I choose to believe) that it is not that simple to "unmake" something. The World Stone is a force of creation, not destruction per se. And even Anu when he was whole could not just *unmake* all the evil; merely seperate it from himself. The World Stone could surely have been used to transform Pandemonium into an outpost of either Heaven or Hell, which would have greatly aided in the Eternal Conflict. But it cannot simply undo either side. Remember, the High Heavens and Burning Hells both are shards of Anu and Tathamet; pieces of virtue and vice, just given shape. The Crystal Arch is not a building, it *IS* a virtue. Mephisto's realm is not a physical place, it *IS* Hatred given shape.

It’s like the fucked up. There’s all the demons on one side then all the angels on the other side. Some of angels should look at themselves and wonder are some of the things they’ve done or want to do actual help or just make shit worse? Imperious killing Diablo didn’t help. In the end he came back and destroyed the heavens and kicked Imperious’s ass. Inarious was selfish and would do anything to get welcomed back to heaven, even killing his own son. I think Lilith had good intentions, wanting to save her children but went the wrong way about it. Part of me thinks that when the angels were deciding on destroying mankind they may they also wanted to basically get them out of the way so they could continue on this eternal war. What else did they have to do other than fight for eternity? Idk 😂

diablo 4 writers really lost an opportunity with the lore IMO, they could have set it up for Diablo 5-6-7-8 and future. Also, the fact a group of heroes beat diablo in his own realm. (D2 story ) just shows that Nephalem super-power at work. Even if it is supressed. They are right to fear it.

When we challenged him after becoming one with death, Malthael threatened to undo our existence through death, and destroyed the black soulstone to gain more power. We had no choice but to kill malthael rather than have humanity in complete extinction. Ryuko: That’s one of the harshest, and brutal dilemmas I’ve ever heard. Mimir: Aye. Can you imagine? If that stone still in one piece, Odin would have it. And if Odin have it, We’d be 7 shades more barfed than sanctuary was already.
