It’s crazy to me that they have the most jaw dropping design for angels in fiction and they just don’t use them. Even if you dont want them to be present in the story just have a vision of them or something just utilise the designs in the updated hyper realistic cutscenes. Like when Inarius stabs Lilith and doesn’t get let back into heaven just have Imperius Auriel and Itherael staring down from heaven silently judging him. The only reason I could see why they would be hesitant to use them is they dont want a repeat of Diablo 3 but outside of Tyrael AS A MORTAL the angels aren’t even in it that much outside of Imperius in cutscenes. Auriel and Itherael can be spoken to in act iv, that’s it and they don’t appear in reaper of souls. You do ONE thing with Imperius in reaper of souls and briefly encounter him in act iv. They’re cool as fuck in design just use them. Why don’t you show Imperius ‘the greatest warrior in creation’ actually win a fight instead of having him unable to pick up Solarion before Tyrael grabs it and then face off vs tathamet reincarnated who drops the diamond gates on him

And i was thinking Starfield DLC was bad in the balance of the cost and time of gameplay, i expected this one for the completion of the history til' now but i'm definely not paying that money, neither did with SF which is a way worse game in general, damn these devs, they are feeling untouchables by doing this kind of thing, such a shame. Not to mention that without this DLC you can't do anything in the game anymore, most of the season content is bound to it, i guess i will forget about D4 for a couple of years...

Damn. If it was old school diablo gameplay, with no live service BS, this would be such a great game. Atmosphere, art design, music, cutscenes...they're good. And ending with Dark Jesus as future protagonist is pretty much on the spot with the series.

@@vegpedro7632 The current business model : forcing you to be always online for engagement, meaningless microtransactions with fake ressources to hide the amount of real money you spend into it, the open world that doesn't matter where players race through hordes of monsters because there's no point killing them, daily chores to do instead on focusing on the fun, a lot of useless stats, nerfs done for so called "balance" sake, and so on. There's a great game behind all of this, but it's sadly overshadowed by the live service. And you can see Blizzard game design team has still a lot of passion and skills to invest in the series. So much work on the monsters, their animations (it's a bit sad they're killed so quickly, you barely enjoy it), the cutscenes, the atmosphere, the maps, the music...Diablo 1 or 2 game design with Diablo 4 story, music and art ? It would be so great.

One of the things that is a mere detail, but shows the passion still hiding behind, is the emotion put in the voice acting. It could have been monotone like a soulless AI, but that's not the case. Of course, when you hear it all the time while doing your daily chore missions, you end up skipping it but the first time ? It helps immerse you in the dark atmosphere of the universe.

You can achieve everything by just playing the game, there is no advantage into spending money in cosmetics. Anyone feel exhausted and annoyed by this story and its characters? Neyrelle in the base game leaving with the soulstone. Eru betraying us as soon as we have a victory. I know the prime evils are strong but like, we spent the whole DLC telling Eru how much Mephisto lies and then Eru just betrays us for him? Lorath nowhere to be found even though hes a great character.

I hope they will fix that with the second extension. Starting with brighing us lorath back. Making a real boss fight with mephisto. Fixing a little Neyrelle charecter. . And givin us an explenation of what happen to nephalem and tyrael after diablo 3. Lorath could give us an explenation if they bring him back in the next dlc. The dlc was not perfect, but i still enjoyed it. Its just the 40$ that kinda bothering me.

I thought the story was solid up to the middle (Durance of Hate). But then it slowly went downhill, downwards into a bad ending. Neyrelle is a very bad personification of the "wise beyond his years" trope. There were good moments, though. Voice acting is good as usual. Kurast and Travincal were a nice throwback to Diablo 2, and Eru is a pretty good sidekick character. My favorite character in the expansion, though, was the antagonist Urivar and his entire arc - everything about our masked crusader boy was awesome and compelling. The epilogue was good as well, but we'll have to judge the real worth of that final revelation in the next installment.

How did Ref. Mother Prava survive hell? Who is the guy lying there and being carried into Mephisto?

Prava is found barely alive in Hell before you fight Lilith. Donan gives her a health potion and she limps out of there. If you're talking about the cinematic at the very end, the guy is Akarat's corpse being usurped by Mephisto via the soulstone (that you can see forced inside his chest). You know, the same way Diablo took over Albrecht first, then Aidan later. Same way Baal took over Tal Rasha's body as well.

As for Akarat, I was also very surprised to see how fresh his corpse looked, considering how long he's been dead and the fact was he wasn't even embalmed or mummified. Maybe it's because his soul was forced into a Spirit and a possible spell done by his dedicants? Actually, don't they say that his body was in the Spirit Realm this whole time? Mephisto really hit the jackpot lol, he must be so happy it's Akarat's body of all people.

What I don’t like is trying to make a new character and then getting thrown into the second part of this plot at level 1 I thought we could start at the beginning and work our way up to this part like before. I wonder if we will have to fight Inarus before we fight Maphisto the next story DLC should be more interesting and longer then this one wonder when we can see trailers for it and 2-3 more classes when it does drop.

Bad enough they got Mephisto's own henchmen wrong (Kurast was full of the demons that Diablo (Oppressors, bilefiends etc. ) and Baal (Succubus and flesh demons), but you don't even actually fight Meph? Nothing from the High Heavens whatsoever on who the new Angel is that was born after Inarius' death? How do you have such good lore and a shit story.
