That's the result of Blizzard Irvin's Warcraft art team getting involved in a franchise they clearly weren't suited to take on. You should check out Blizzard North's version of Diablo 3 before it was cancelled in 2005. The art style for their version of Diablo 3 was going to be way more in-line and consistent with Diablo 1&2 than Blizzard Irvin's version.

It’s not about the age. I hated D3s graphics the day it came out and always have since. It’s because they went from the dark realistic artistic direction of D2 to the cartoony wow style graphics in D3 it was like they were styling it for 12 year olds or something compared to the Mature style of diablos roots. I’m glad Diablo 4 went back to that style.

I’m sure u didn’t enjoy playing d3 necro at launch. The issue with these games is that they need time to reach their best form and even though I’m enjoying d4 and I think it had a way better starting point than d3 I wish the endgame was as good and they add more build diversity.

Diablo 3 is MUCH better than 4 in so many ways. Graphically 4 takes the win, sure, but content wise 3 is so much better. Better skill customization, magic find, better movement skills, you feel more powerful. For instance i've been doing the same damage since level 10, and im level 23 now. Not getting decent gear and constantly getting frozen/stunned to death. All in all they better fix this fucking mess.

D3s magic class is a wizard and D4 is a sorcerer. A wizard has Arcane abilities with the elemental and Sorcerer is only a wielder of the elements ( Ice,Fire and lightning)

The spell effects are toned down some in d4 due to the multiplayer aspects of the game. Too much going on on-screen creates clutterness so you cant tell whats going on
