this format is a lot more digestible because I suspect most people don't have the time to watch a 9 hour+ vod everyday even though we enjoy your content.

getting to 90, blind...is actually pretty impressive. some people enjoy guides on their first playthrough, others blind. either way if the end result is enjoyment, thats the goal
@RegularSchmuck Жыл бұрын
To be fair as the playthrough progressed I started to get more and more help from chat, so it became less blind as I went on!
@steel5897 Жыл бұрын
You need some kind of guidance, completely blind is not how the game was meant to be played. This doesn't mean a strict build guide holding your hand, it can be something as simple as having the wiki open while you play, having PoB open to simulate skill setups and passive tree builds, looking up poe ninja to see what top players are doing on your chosen skill/class, a veteran friend or two helping you with questions and tips (this guy had the stream chat for example), etc... you need to learn the game somehow, at least use the info and tools that are out there, that way you won't even need a bespoke build guide.

Thanks for the content and keep it up! :)

oh yeah, the skill gem system is unique and interesting, but the real kicker to me is just how detailed the devs made the game world. i just put up a vid about how detailed the treasure chests int he game are. they're just random boxes you open, but the devs put work into not just making them unique but also making them look like things you could actually use in every day life.

PoE is actually massively inspired by Diablo 2, they weren't fond of the direction D3 was going early on. In every sense it is the true spiritual successor to D2. It was way closer to D2 originally and slowly evolved it's own style. Hell even the original Diablo 1 and 2 devs hang out at ExileCon. The "fathers of Diablo" Dave Brevik and Eric and Max Shaefer were at ExileCon this year. People generally get intimidated by the Passive Tree but it REALLY ISN'T as bad as most people assume. You will quickly learn that the Travel Nodes are the little ones and they're mainly just there to get to the Notable and Keystone Nodes, that's where the meat is. For the most part, you can ignore 2/3rds of the tree. Like if you're a Strength build for instance you won't care about most of the blue/green parts of the tree. As for Vendors and selling stuff you'll learn there are "recipes" for what combinations of stuff you sell that you'll start to exploit to get what you need in game.
@ThomasWinget Жыл бұрын
TY KZbin algorithm for bringing me here. Half way through the video, stopping to comment. The editing seems pretty good; obviously half way through idk if there's a summary at the end but it would be interesting to include (like, thoughts on progress and your experience/enjoyment during the relevant stream(s) ). The passive tree reaction was...yup, that's the normal reaction and I love it. Edit: A further thought that would be interesting to us veterans would be to have some sort of play time timer somewhere on screen. I assume/hope nobody would be rude about it (lol you're only *that* far after *that* much time!!!!) but it's always interesting to see how long the journey is. Obviously one would have to assume some padding on the timer for stream interaction. Second edit: the fuck is that recommended video at the end‽ You've already moved on to hardcore ruthless??? Absolute madlad...anyway, another suggestion at least for the leveling videos like this one would be to include current level and stats somewhere, maybe always on screen or maybe only after a cut when either enough time passed or a significant enough change occurred. If you do, and you decide to include a lot of stats (life, energy shield, dps, armour/evasion) then the latter is probably the play.

@benmaxwell115 Жыл бұрын
It's actually really simple! Either go into defence or offence, and then head towards a big node on the edge of the ring that fits your class - like axe or bow damage. Lots of people suggest guides but I don't see the need, pick something you like and just go for it. You end up just heading in a straight line for your favourite nodes, builds don't matter at all until like level 40+ and even then if you aren't hardcore you can get away with bad builds until the endgame. Just have fun and pick things that stack :) If you're new just focus on two main abilities, one to kill bosses, and one to clear mobs, then hook this up with cool support gems. All your other slots get taken by movement/aura/summon stuff but you don't have to worry about those until endgame.

Having only found your channel recently, these short cuts will certainly be more digestible. However, it must take a tremendous amount of time to edit an 11 hour livestream, thus leaving less time for you to stream in general. Do these if you wanna attract more viewers, but my advise would be to upload shorter segments of your livestream instead of the full 8-11hr stream, like break it up into 1hr parts rather than all in one video. Admittedly watching your streams on YT has inspired me to get back into PoE, so thank you for that. Recommended build: ShakCentral's Cold DoT.

what I loved the most is how damn right you are when looking at the skill tree and going like wait lets just focus on what we have access to and forget about the rest. It seems that this way of thinking makes the game much more manageable. I wish that there was a better way to make people understand that dont get intimidated by choices, just focus what you can choose right this instant and figure out the rest when you get there.
@baam25th31 Жыл бұрын
It works for leveling but not going to get past yellow maps.
@rnailo Жыл бұрын
@@baam25th31 yeah but the people who get overwhelmed by the skill tree wont be making to the yellow maps anyhow. it was more of an advice to a first time player on how not to get overwhelmed by everything. Just focus on the things game is giving you and do not thing about what might be in the end game. Its the journey there that actually makes it more fun and has more likelihood of getting people to play the game.
