Not arrogance or stupidity. Activision has been the one calling shots for nearly 14 years now. Blizzard is simply producing what Activision wants. And what Activision wants is to squeeze its customers for as much money for as little effort on their part as possible. It took 10 years for Blizzard to fully sink to Activision's level. Now Blizzard's only redeeming quality is its talent, management is completely predatory. Microsoft might change the management of Activision-Blizzard, but they have almost no incentive to do so. If you are looking for a bright side to that relationship, Xbox won't want preditory microtransactions in its Gamepass selection, so anything greenlit for Gamepass won't be like Diablo Immortal.

totally, even though the progression might be slower for a f2p on genshin, you can still clear the harder content with the free characters and still get to "wish" and obtain event 5 star characters without affecting that much of your progression in the game, the difference here is that genshin is about liking the playstyle of the characters and not directly the damage that you output in order to "play the game", it's true that genshin has a shitty system called "resin" but there's no competitive advantages because there's no pvp so you basically spend money to play with the characters that you like, not to "win the game" (still I consider genshin to be somehow predatory but DI is next level)

I also hate how Blizzard make their games nowadays, but your argument is totally off-base. It IS review bombing. Anyone who reviews a game (or movie, tv show, etc.) and gives it a 0 is doing so to bring the average score down as much as they can in a way to truncate what would actually be the average opinion about the game. There is literally no media product out there that deserves a 0. It would mean the game/movie/tv show would have zero merit on ANYTHING. There is always good work put into every piece of media out there, whether it's the music, the art style, the writing, etc. A FAIR review would be to give the pros and cons of a product honestly, not go ''waaaah it sucks/I don't like it, thus 0'' like a frustrated little kid. The opposite is true when someone gives a 10 and goes ''best game eva''. But yea, this is review bombing pure and simple, and I will never be for it as it is just dishonesty and does not represent a fair opinion on a piece of media. However, I agree that Blizzard should be criticized for what they do now, but this should be done simply through not purchasing their games/products. They will care a lot more if you don't give them money than if you truncate review scores online. If anything, like you said, this just gives them munitions to argue that those who review bomb are idiotic, never-to-be-satisfied children. Be better than them.

Heroin addiction isn’t cheap longterm. That’s how it hooks you. $10 is nothing when it takes very little to get you high. Eventually your tolerance develops & the $10 worth that used to get you high is just keeping you from getting sick. Now you’ll need more money for more heroin to actually get high instead of stabilized. You could end up spending $100 a day on dope, depends on what your dealer charges & what area you’re in. Gamblers need money to pay off their debts & keep gambling; heroin users need money to stave off withdrawal, which is one of the worst physical sicknesses you could experience. It’s enough to scare thousands upon thousands of people every day into continuing to use, even when they want to stop. Neither of these addictions has an upside or a benefit. They both ruin lives.

There really needs to be a "Videogame Consumer Protection Law". It would be a law that requires all videogames that requires consumers to spend a certain amount of money, to provide a full-featured offline game, with no strings attached like DRM or timed expiration codes in them. This ensures that consumers of even f2p games can get something concrete out of their money, once they spend a certain amount of it (like as much as a standalone game would cost) on a videogame. This also prevents online-only videogames made solely for the predatory gambling-infused monetization schemes from flooding the market and taking over the entire industry. You can still play online-only games or subscription based ones, but once you spend a certain amount, the game will allow you to play a single-player offline mode that contains everything that you would normally see on the online mode (minus the multiplayer feature).
@kevingame31982 жыл бұрын
Yes that way this will put greedy companies feet to the fire and will be like oh sht we shouldn’t be doing this anymore it turns out we can’t get away with it after all. We already seen this with Belgium and the Netherlands banning loot boxes but that’s only one step there’s gonna be some sort of unionization like how we protested with the Activision Blizzard scandal for employees protesting and speaking out I have to be the same thing where we have to speak out and share stories about there gambling experiences

So... you need to pay money to play with friends? At this point, you might as well just outright ban microtransactions (not like I would have a problem).
@kamikaze000072 жыл бұрын
@@GoodwillWright No. I think you got it mixed up. You can play a game online and all like with F2P MMOs and such, but my idea of the law would make it so if you spend like say $100 at some point in your AA MMO game, an offline mode where you can play the entire game tailored for one-player mode (with a separate local save) becomes unlocked for you to play anytime you wish. That way, it's the same as you purchasing a full game. Many folks (especially enablers) will probably say that will cost the devs more money. But people need to understand that companies that make purely online games make it so not because it is cheaper, but because they want to bank in more cash fast and is predatory at the very least. Greedy at most. I recall there being a dev of an MMO some years back being interviewed secretly, saying that it doesn't really take much effort for a company with a functional online game like an MMO to package the entire game as a single-player game. They scale stuff for solo first and then just add multipliers for online-play already. They just don't want to, because online games bank way more money than it normally should, given the amount of resources they spend to make them. Having an online-only game that sells is like winning the videogame industry lottery for these companies. They also use many excuses like cheat security and such, but time has always proven hackers will hack even just online. In the end, consumers are the ones who slowly lose everything, especially their rights to own the games they buy.

Y'know what, I don't think it was "review bombed". That term at least for me indicates the public unfairly giving a negative rating for a product due to outside circumstances. This could be due to negative press surrounding a company, or any number of reasons but none of which actually address the game. This game truly deserves to be getting the shit it is getting. Our games have turned into soft af war barbie dress up time and it sucks. Games are made for cosplayers, streamers, and whales now. Players have lost all power in purchasing an actual good recognizable by law and they are inflating profits with these predatory cosmetic sales. All of it used to just be a part of the game. Private servers/map creators are relics of the past. They've destroyed everything that is counterproductive to their schemes and anything that gives players choice or power. They've maximized short-term gains like they always do. It's a microcosm of the globalist agenda and unsustainable.
