This got me thinking about the many causes of the Crash of 1929. One of them was the pre-regulated Wall Street and banking systems. The original Ponzi schemes emerged early in that era. Ponzis encouraged novice investors to divert funds to unfounded ventures, which in reality simply used new investors’ funds to pay off older investors as the schemes grew in size. Speculation, where investors purchased into high-risk schemes that they hoped would pay off quickly, became the NORM. Banks began to offer easy credit, allowing people to invest, even when they lacked the money to do so. Big time with the housing boom, just like what happened in 2008. The Crash of '29 ushered in the nation's first real understanding of the need for checks-and-balances.

Today, the exact same issue of economic insecurity is impacting marriage rates and age of first marriages. Yet too many idiots are trying to blame this on "moral decline", despite the historical fact that financial security has not only been one of the primary motivations to get married, but also a prerequisite.

I always mention this when an alt-righter says "Degenerates" destroyed the Weimar republic. They would love to say anything other than paper money being reduced to toilet paper.
@TomorrowWeLive

Absolute nonsense. Our ancestors were infinitely poorer than us, yet they still all managed to marry and have and raise much much larger families. The Scandinavian countries have the most generous maternal and family benefits in the world, but it hasn't saved their birth rates. People don't marry because they've been conditioned by an infinite number of means--ideological, moral, cultural, even chemical, into not wanting to. In a sexually anarchic society marriage and family is an unnecessary anachronism. The organs of the system openly problem as much. It was a deliberate scheme to destroy the literal base of our civilisation and race. And it's succeeded all too well.

@@TomorrowWeLive Our ancestors lived before urbanization and industrialization. Those 2 things destroyed the birth rate. Before that, children quickly became free ranch labor and were the only form of pension insurance. They were a net asset. Industrialization and urbanization made it more of a high priced hobby to have children. That made them a net liability. Sure, some people will rant about children being seen in economic terms. However, people didn't need to know a single word of economics to understand cost benefit analysis or return on investment. People were making those decisions whether fully aware or not. Unless people catch a genuine case of baby rabies, or get manipulated by hellfire and brimstone sermons, don't expect high birth rates. Eventually this will select out the people who don't desire children from the gene pool. It will result in only wanted children being born to genuinely motivated parents. Crime, abuse, neglect, and mental illness will decline dramatically.

While watching this I found it hard to imagine, how even though I see it(nudism) touted on many Quora comments, I can even imagine how nudism found a way to flourish beyond one person doing it 24/7, unless it was just the 3 seasons other than winter. The second thing I found striking was that there were unmarried couples living together during the 1930's, I thought that it was started during the 1970's.

@@HISTORY_FACTS_II I could see nudism, since you say it was a big deal even from ancient times, I'll venture the ancient Greek culture, among the hedonists and epicurians, those who did not deny every physical pleasure. As a boy I read many books on the sciences and both American and world history, because I found other cultures and their development fascinating.
@donpietruk1517

@@mf7482It's a myth that epicureans exclusively sought pleasure. They certainly didn't avoid it but they believed in moderation above all else. To indulge excessively in any activity would have been in violation of the epicurian ideal. What you are describing is closer to hedonism.

Some of your photos show people in 1950's dress. That's a different decade than the 1930s. For that matter, you misidentify some 1920's photos as from the 1930's. And BTW, since when is gay coupling or gay sex "kinky?"
