Hi Zach, Thank you for the review. Based on it and a lot of your tennis content, I just bought the Torneo v2, and after a couple a sessions I can say that I’m really happy with it. I found in these a lot of what you mentionned in your video. Used to play with the Vapor Cage, day and night in terms of confort, and I still have great support and stability ! I noticed that Diadora also increased the height of the achilles collar at the back of the shoe - WHICH IS AWESOME! That was my one gripe with the Blushield 5 (and the Lotto Hyperpulse Raptor) - both GREAT shoes, but did aggravate my achilles tendon on occasion. Seems to me, with this shoe and the B.Icon - Diadora is the go to shoe in tennis at this time.

One comment regarding not being compatible with narrow feet ... I have narrow feet but I also use a thicker replacement insole, the 10-second brand. With the thicker insole, it's just perfect for narrow feet! Very snug no shifting side-to-side at all within the shoe. Just got this shoe with the clay-court sole and it is fantastic in all the ways you mentioned.

Hey Zach. I’m struggling with a painful knee. Currently have the Zoom NXTs as my comfort shoe but wondering if there’s anything with more cushioning that you’d recommend? I’m 100kg, approx 4.5, all court player. I play once or twice a day on a mix of carpet and hard so cushioning is really important to me. Thank you in advance for your advice. Amazing shoe coming from someone who has been struggling with tendonitis and fasciitis over the last 12 months. Thanks for the review Zach this is everything you said and more coming from someone that has been struggling to step onto a tennis court for 12 months with a foot injury. I am about 5 hours into the play test and this shoe just keeps getting more and more comfortable every time i play. Zach i was speedy around the court, would the Diadora B.Icon's provide enough comfort and stability for someone like me that was looking for a little bit more speed with ample stability & comfort?

Major problem of the BS5's was the height of the toe box.Very rough material and height hurt the nail on the big toe in a lot of users.Did you notice that on your tests and if any change has been made to the new shoe?

Maybe for the first 10 min but I’ve never had a real problem in them with that- I’ve put adhesive pads underneath the tongue to stop that on other shoes- I have a video on it on my TikTok page

Hi Zach, I have purchased my last 2 pairs of tennis shoes based on your reviews. The 1st was the Nike GP turbo which I loved except for the narrow fit in the toe box. Next I purchased the Adidas Solecourt boost and absolutely love these. Was looking to buy another pair but can't find them in my size anymore. Can you tell me how the Torneo compares to the Solecourt in terms of fit, comfort and suitability for foot/heel pain?

Hey Zach. I've worn the 4s, 5s and now these. I find them to be - technical term - squishier. So much so that I can feel myself bottoming out on serve, and am actually experiencing quite a lot of pain/irritation in the capsule of my big toe joint. I'm only around 130 lbs, so definitely not heavy enough for it to be a me thing. Any thoughts on that?

I ended up buying both because no one really is comparing similar models. I prefer the Diadora overall. More cushion, good feel, but I have to use runners knot. The Lotto I find is very rigid. My knees hurt after I wear them. But I like the fit ALOT in these. I don’t if the Lotto just needs breakin a bit. I also bout the Diadora blue fly. I really like these for speedier practice or games. Overall the torneo is my ‘go to’ shoe though.

Another great review I wanted this shoe but couldn't find in Australia so went the Nile gp turbo and so far they are awesome and yeah hella fast. I did use a runner's knot so thank you for your advice. Not quite as stable as a sole match bounce but I can cover court amazingly quick, time will tell if stability issues mean I'll be heading back to addidas. Would love to see this shoe go head to head against either the gp turbo or the sole court boost, I feel like it's a middle ground of those two with stability and speed. even a three way test would be cool. Question: My Blueshield 5's started to bag out in the uppers. The lateral stability was great, but after about 7 months, the upper part of the shoe started to spill over the outsole's when I'd hit the breaks going side to side. Thanks Zach, great review as always. I bought the Torneo and the B Icon and I got to admit I found the B Icon more comfortable. It is faster and I think softer at least in the heel. It surprised me as I wore the BS5s all last year. The Torneos just seemed to narrow out in too much in the toe. I can’t wait for your side by side comparison but until then I’m sticking with the B Icons.

I did. Same size for both. I was very surprised by the width of the B Icons. I’m kinda a wide forefoot guy and they fit great. The Torneos just seems a little too stiff.
@vnishpt70362 жыл бұрын
I found the Icon's a good 1/2 size long & too narrow in the forefoot so returned for the Torneo's which are much more true to size (lengthwise) & wider in the forefoot area. Also did not like the lacing system on the Icon's which are designed to accomodate that loose outside stability plastic piece on the outer side. Highly recommend the Torneo's if you want a comfortable amount of room in the forefoot area & true to size length with a comfortable ride underfoot & excellent stability otherwise.
