Takes me back to being 13 and having an original pair of gold Borg elites in kangaroo all thanks to my secondary school PE teacher who seemed to have a job lot for sale !! Certainly tempted to get a pair of these, those that know will know 😂

I don’t think you’d be disappointed by these, I wear them a lot and they’ve beaten in really nicely as the leather really shapes to your foot. It’s is a thin cut of leather, which might not be to everyone’s taste (as it creases a lot) but it doesn’t bother me as it just creases in accordance with your foot. Get some in memory of your PE Teacher 😂

You won’t be disappointed. Such a classic pair. Do note that the leather is good quality but quite thin, so expect them to crease to fit your foot quite a bit. This helps with comfort. Enjoy wearing them. They are pricey but also priceless 👍🏻

I just bought these and they look great. Couldn’t decide if I should keep them so I started searching for reviews and found this. I couldn’t afford these when I was a kid and the rich kids had them only. It’s a shame they aren’t kangaroo as I think they were maybe softer. I bought a pair of Borge from JD or somewhere maybe some years back with white stripe and gold on back. They did have a different sole and rubbed bad till I broke them in. I am worried that these may also jut my ankles as the thin high backs are still just that. I do want to keep them though as I dreamt of them in the 80s. By the way what are those jeans you have on as I can see myself in a pair like that with the elastic ankles!

Thanks for the view and great to hear you grabbed a pair. I found these broke in very easily, as the leather is thin and soft. They are a truly iconic pair I never had the chance of getting as a kid. As for the pants, those are from Superdry a few years ago, but I think they still do similar pairs- almost a jogger/cargo pants hybrid, very comfy and versatile.

Thanks for watching- this is a great pair, but be preps for the fact the leather is a thin,but good quality cut. The result is they crease a lot, but will shape to your foot very nicely. If you’re the sort of person who likes crisp looking shoes all the time that may take some getting used to. The watch is a Tag Heuer Link Searacer- the Limited Oracle Racing Edition, limited to 1,500 pieces. It originally released around 2002 and I’d seen it in a catalogue but it was impossible to find. 17 years later in 2019 I found a watch collector who was clearing out a lot of his stuff and he had this one, still sealed and tagged from new- never opened or worn, and he was selling it for around £500 less than it went for in 2002. The watch itself is pretty standard, but I got really really lucky to find one on ice like that.

Bought a pair direct from Diadora. Nice materials but the different leather thicknesses and extra layers around the brand detail cause the softer leather to bulge and I notice it in your on-foot shots too. I find it annoying as it spoils the aesthetic, hopefully the bulging lessens with wear.

Yes, you’re right. I think the leather in the vamp/toebox is also thinner, meaning the toe bulges show up more. After a couple of weeks wearing they do break in better and the creasing becomes a bit more natural looking. I do think they could have used thicker leather in places. They get more comfortable after breaking in.

Hi- I have quite wide feet so sometimes go up a size but these fit really well. The leather if very supple and breaks in well- although you may feel the leather is a thin cut and creases more than normal- but that helps the shoes fit to your foot more. Sometimes I have to get a UK size 10 but with these a 9.5 was fine and the front of my foot is wide. If you get them from 80s Casual Classics they have a helpful returns policy to swap them for a different size if needed. Hope that helps.

Yes, true to size, whatever you take in Dunks ought to fit.

Appreciate it. They wear in well, but be aware the leather is actually very thin, so they immediately crease a lot around your foot. It’s not ‘damage’ creasing by the very soft (but thin) leather really shapes to your foot. I love them still, but some people might be freaked out if they’re not used to very supple leather.
