Great review! Not too bothered about the crease to be honest, but im glad you pointed that out. These low profile nikes are smart looking and plain and simple. Perfect for the office or casual days out. You can even dress them up, very versatile!

I love them. I got this color immediately upon its release. It’s funny, I don’t have overly wide feet, but I have other air max shoes that fit much more snug than these. I think they’re extremely comfortable.

I don’t think you’d be disappointed by these, I wear them a lot and they’ve beaten in really nicely as the leather really shapes to your foot. It’s is a thin cut of leather, which might not be to everyone’s taste (as it creases a lot) but it doesn’t bother me as it just creases in accordance with your foot. Get some in memory of your PE Teacher 😂

Yes very similar to the Samba, and sizing they are on the smaller size- I’m usually a 9.5 but they don’t do the Rio in half sizes so I got a 10 and they fit fine. I usually get a 10 in adidas as they seem to run small.

I got it from Amazon, but that was over a year ago. Since then it’s been out of stock on Amazon and even eBay (in the UK) never seems to get them- closest I’ve seen is the Region 1 DVD set, but the image quality on the Blu Ray is so beautifully perfect I wouldn’t go the DVD route. Maybe the best bet is to search physical media stores like HMV to see if any have a copy. It seems to have been popular!

I usually take a 9.5 in Nike as well and for these had to get size 10, as they are a more snug fit and 9 would have been too tight. Note that the Patrick Original (also known as the Patrick Liverpool) are available in half sizes so if you like those you could get a 9.5. For the Rio I have to go to the 10 and they fit fine, and also come with thicker insoles just in case they’re a little bigger for you. Good luck and enjoy!

When the quality is there and it's as close to the original as possible, i understand many collectors will be content with that. For me it's the excitement of tracking down an original and knowing it's the real deal. I paid £265 for the real thing but it's an itch i needed to scratch. It ultimately comes down to the individual needs of the collector. A repo would never satisfy for me, but it will for others.

That’s right- finding an original remains the dream, ideally one in the wild, as I doubt I’ll ever be prepared to pay close to £300 for one. I paid £90 for an Amanaman, which wasn’t such a bad deal when I see what those go for. This Stan Solo will do me until the real thing comes my way.

Foreigners have started to conquering Tisza shoes i saw it here Budapest. Some of them just get blown away by the feel and comfort quality of the shoes because it’s something what does not exist anymore elsewhere and would never get from huge brands anymore. While others getting a pair because they find it funny when they told that’s what we had widely available here under the communist era so they get something “communist thing“ which is stupid. Not too many people know the old factory has made shoes for Adidas in the 70’s,80’s. The brand sadly disappeared in the early 90’s after the political system has changed and the demand for western brands has started to growing. After 2000’s a local entrepreneur had the idea to revive the shoe brand and making it available once again as he and most Hungarians are loved and missed the good old Tisza shoes. Needless to say it was an instant success as people have started to hearing about the shoes. The best thing is the new company is focusing onto quality over quantity so as you have experience it just to holding these shoes in hand feeling the smell is already a pleasure and satisfaction. The bad side is stocks are running out quickly from the common sizes and bestselling real og colorway, but once you get one it will makes you real happy as i’m because i have 2 pairs now. One is kompakt black on white logo and the other is a Martfű in the same color. I tell you this shoe will be your first pair what will last longer than any other shoes what you have. Adidas is now feels crappy by the way.

Yes, the quality is amazing. By far the best leather quality and fit of any trainers I have bought in recent years (and I’ve bought a lot!). It’s interesting how I’ve noticed them becoming more popular, and I see people wearing them to death, as they are durable and get more comfortable as they age. They have done a good job of balancing retro styles with more modern build. They’ve done a really good job. It was noteworthy that the store at Balaton was busy- people prepared to travel to find these shoes, even though they are also online.

Balaton is like nothing else in the world the beauty and the atmosphere of the place is so charming especially for me as a native Hungarian who has many many childhood memories from family vacations. The Tisza store here in Budapest is even busier i literally had to stand in line just to getting into the store which is crazy because that’s what we had to do to getting into the country’s first Adidas store at Váci street back in the late 80’s early 90’s. Crazy people literally buying multiple pairs at once and coming out from the store with shoe box stacks. Many of them are foreigners even Americans. Lol! Chek out the google reviews of the brand there are some Americans begging to make them available online. Not sure if they sending them overseas. You can also find my review with photos. Thousands of people have looked onto it already. The product has literally 0% chinese junk containing, it’s made in Hungary by Hungarians and using only Hungarian materials.

I just bought these and they look great. Couldn’t decide if I should keep them so I started searching for reviews and found this. I couldn’t afford these when I was a kid and the rich kids had them only. It’s a shame they aren’t kangaroo as I think they were maybe softer. I bought a pair of Borge from JD or somewhere maybe some years back with white stripe and gold on back. They did have a different sole and rubbed bad till I broke them in. I am worried that these may also jut my ankles as the thin high backs are still just that. I do want to keep them though as I dreamt of them in the 80s. By the way what are those jeans you have on as I can see myself in a pair like that with the elastic ankles!

I just want a brown leather sneaker with black sole and nothing "flashy" or "loud". I never thought it would be so hard to find brown leather sneakers. I'm getting close to retirement and don't need more work boots. I would prefer sneakers for the comfort but would still like to look casual or semi professional. I'm old enough that fashion is no longer a priority for me but my younger nephew always rips on my shoe choices. Would these be okay to wear with khaki pants and brown leather belt? Nothing formal but maybe for office visits or restaurant dining. The brown leather and black soles is what I really like and the mid height is nice for riding my motorcycle.

Hi James, so the only leather on this shoe is on the toe box, the rest is a mix of suede or nubuck and fabric/nylon. These shoes are very comfortable and will go well with khaki pants and I often wear these to work. Your nephew will know that Nike SB are cool, and you should find them a versatile pair of sneakers. There are plenty of smarter leather sneakers out there, but these have a more casual edge and I think you’d enjoy wearing them.

In contention was the Four Horsemen and also the Airships with the green swoosh and collar. No other air forces had much green. The quality on the four hoursemen was a bit basic and they looked cheap compared to these Gorge Greens. The Airships look lovely but are a bit narrow at the front. If they do a ‘colour of the month’ with green then those would be a safe bet too.

Hi- I have quite wide feet so sometimes go up a size but these fit really well. The leather if very supple and breaks in well- although you may feel the leather is a thin cut and creases more than normal- but that helps the shoes fit to your foot more. Sometimes I have to get a UK size 10 but with these a 9.5 was fine and the front of my foot is wide. If you get them from 80s Casual Classics they have a helpful returns policy to swap them for a different size if needed. Hope that helps.

It really is fun taking inventory of your collection from childhood. I have been working on adding some of the figs that I didn’t get as a kid. I too have been working on finding replacements for Leia blasters and am missing that Yoda cane. I was thinking about buying the Hasbro retro and using that cane for my 1980 Yoda. Yes, very soft on the top of your foot, might be a neoprene- it’s that sort of material and nicely cushioned
