I live on a remote Island, (Kauai) delays and dead inside doctors is so relatable. I was handed off to a job sharing oncologist and she is a cancer survivor, I liked her immediately. Of coarse she is moving in a couple months to Australia. So frustrating when you find the right one and then you are not going to be able to stay with them.

The Australian health system is under so much stress it’s broken. People are dying because of the stress of everyone coming to Australia to use it.

I had to advocate for myself. Two week wait for ultrasound. Mammogram. Called for any cancellations, got in a week. 1 week wait for biopsy. Diagnosed with IDC. 1 month wait for BREAST MRI, called for any cancellations, got in the next day. 1 month wait to speak to surgeon for follow up after MRI. Call the two offices he works in for cancellations, got an appointment for 2 weeks. That’s where I am. She is lucky to have connections. Most people don’t.

The long term medicine/hormone therapy is what nobody talks about. The side effects are tough. It tries to steal your quality of life. Blessings to you 🙏🏼
