Dude! You're the man! My issue was the exact opposite of your video. My high beams wouldn't turn off on my 2008 F150. After watching your video, I pushed the turn signal lever in and voila! High beam acuation is working again! Thank you!

Wow not even 2 min into this video you diagnosed our problem! We had work done a few years ago and since the high beams never worked. They looked at it and didn't see the problem, my husband checked the fuse and it was missing! Put one in and amazingly the high beams came on! Thank you!!

Hey Andrew. high beams on my 2008 F150 FX2 weren't coming on. It was the problem with the stick as you described, there was that play in it, when I pushed the stick in, then pulled it toward me the high beams would come on. Just watched your other video on how to change the stick, seems simple enough. Great work!

I found this video very informative and helpful. My stupid hi-beams work on/off, except that it will randomly switch on while driving making it look like I'm flashing the cars in front of me. I've had to pull the hi/beam fuse in the mean time. Now I'll check to see if lever is pulled out.

Your video helped in finding problem. thanks. Want to mention this issue is also when lights won't turn off . disconnecting battery only way. Isolated the relay then tried the turn sifter and lights went out. Was able to push in so will need to watch video on replacement.

Thanks bro....20 min of troubleshooting along with this vid found its the control arm is bad. ...high beams were stuck on , pushing in the arm I was able to work most of the time...changing out my control arm...thanks

@@FF.Painting I finally had to have it replaced by the Ford Dealer. The temp fix worked for a short time but was overall unsuccessful. New one works great.

Finally a video that showed me the actual problem, now my other problem is the emergency flashers already changed the fuse and everything and they’re not working, if I push down the button the signals work but if I let it go they don’t work any tips??

Sorry I'm late. Sounds like the button is not staying clicked into the "on" position. Might have to look at changing it out if you haven't already.

Mine kind of flickers on and off on its own. I had when it's on it's hard to turn off and when it's off it's hard to turn on. Right away I thought I had something to do with the multi-switch. And the process of ordering a new one but kind of curious about the whole pushing it in thing. Wanting to try the idea of temporarily repairing it as you were mentioning just for giggles.

I really enjoyed your video. My issue is I have LED headlights on my 2005 f150. Only one bulb works on high beam. I checked fuses but not relay yet. Ford repaired a recall that needed a electrical harness and when I went and picked up my new used truck I smelled a burning smell. Could ford have caused a issue to my LED headlights? It very well could be but just the opposite problem. They may be stuck on the "on" position.

My 04 f150 only has bright lights .The blue high beam stays on in the dash and I can hear a clicking noise at the relay when I turn the light control switch.I switched the relay w another and no change.Bulbs seem to be ok but like I said only high beams.Thinking about taking a look at the multi functional thing a ma gig to see if anything is obviously broken.Appreciate any positive feedback .Thanks

On my 04 it says the high beam fuse is the same as the regular headlights so it could never be a fuse or relay if your headlights are working..

Okay I have a weird one my right headlight went out right so I plug in another led that ik works but doesn’t when I plug it in on the right side and I’ve noticed when I got to turn my high beams on the left light goes out as well any thoughts on what this could be I did have a bad fuse and replaced it but hasn’t changed anything

I had NO relay where highbeams was supposed to be. I took the relay from 'trailer tow battery charge'. I'm never ever going to tow anything. Do I need to replace that relay.?

Beware blown fuses can not always be seen with the eye. Continuity test is more reliable.. Notice before pulling fuse out two tiny metal surfaces visible on fuse. Do a continuity test with the multimeter probes while fuses are still in fuse box. If you'll look at a removed or extra fuse you'll see the tiny metal I'm referring to where the Amp number is. Easier than pulling out fuses.

I’m not sure which fuse it is. That would have to be a quick Google. If it’s not a fuse it could be a wire issue somewhere

It could be. Look at some documentation to double-check which fuse should in fact be there. Depending on model, maybe it is only supposed to be a blue 15.

My nephews 04 F150 will not dim and his speedometer isnt working. He lives in Rocky Mount NC where the Tornado recently hit Pfizer pharmaceutical. It totaled his original truck. His brother sold him this one. Mechanics are back logged there so im from different county ill go get it and attempt to fix it at my place. He has limited time to fix this due to inspection requirements.

Excellent video! I know it was posted over a year ago but I'm hoping you might still see my comment. I was wondering....My 2007 Ford F150 is doing something strange. Both light bulb sets were working and high beams as well. We changed the casing because it was cracked...now the left headlight is out and when I switch to high beams I have no lights at all. We changed the bulbs several times with no change. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Glad you enjoyed the video! In changing the headlight housings you usually have to handle the wiring harnesses and sockets for the bulbs. With a vehicle that's 10+ years old and they're in an area that can be exposed to a lot of heat it can make the wires and sockets brittle. I'd ensure that the sockets and wires weren't damaged in the swap. Checking the fuses is also a good idea. That's where I'd start.

OK, our 2012 F150 has a similar problem. When the lights are turned to automatic and they come on at night, the high beams won't come on unless you hold the turn signal switch back. BUT, if I turn the lights to the ON position, the brights come on as they should. Any ideas? Sounds like it might be in the light switch itself? Thanks.

It does sound like it could be switch related but if the switch and lights work as they should with the headlamps turned to "On" instead of "Auto" I'm not 100% certain.

I'm thinking there might be some kind of malfunction with the Auto mode of the light switch? The easiest fix is to just use the ON mode on the light switch, but we were just wondering if you or anyone else might be able to pin point the problem. Thanks again.

I'd take a look at the switch like I did in the video to see if it's the issue. If not there, then fuses and relays are a good next step.
