Hello. A nice and descriptive video. Thanks for this. I have a similar problem on my motorcycle. I own a 2012 model 500cc piaggio scooter motorcycle. When my engine is on the stand and idling, the EFI lamp turns on after 3-5 minutes. After getting on the engine and starting to drive (about 30 seconds), the light goes off. The battery was weak and I replaced the battery. But it seems like the problem is not with the battery.

Hi there, My mp3 400 has a dead battery and the key unlock mechanism does not work. Is there a way to jump start the bike someway? Or some cable under the bike I can manipulate to open the seat or storage area for the helmet?

If an LX-50 has dimming lights on rev's and turn signals not working at all would that be a rectifier issue or a CDI issue? I've looked through the manual and can't find any information on the turn signal relay. Cleaned grounds and wires + New Battery + cleaned connections on CDI and Rectifier Thank you! When I accelerate my red warning light comes on and my efi comes on on the main display panel. It’s an aprilia sportcity 250cc. Not sure if it’s just a loose wire or if my efi is bad. Only 8k miles.

Hey there, would it damage the bike over time to use the wrong sized battery? All sorts of issues came up and eventually I could hear the starter but it wouldn’t spin with the engine, forcing me to repair it. Said I was in need of a new stator (mechanic also recommended another battery.)

Hi, I made the test on my Gts 250 and the results are 1) when scooter is On 18.5 2) when is off 0.3 Oms 3) OL is ok… the battery test is 12.6 (battery is from this year) when is off and 13.5 when is on and you give him power. Shoud I replace the startor in this case or looking for something else? Thanks

Hey buddy wondered if u could help me out recently purchased a piaggio x9 500ie on the dash the engine management light comes on when reaching 30mph but when stationary or in the 20mph the light stays of the guy had taken it to a piaggio dealership and said couldn't find anything but the chap who owned it was old and think they have taken advantage he was in his 80s.would u say its the voltage regulater causing the fault or the fact it has a aftermarket exhaust on GPR make and maybe throwing up lamba sensor fault.

The medley 150 doesn't have a regulator. The voltage drops while I ride. I have to test the stator and change it?

Have a Beverly 125 ie, will randomly stall for a few seconds and then recover. this sound like a stator plate shorting out?? any help appreciated.

Hi Everyone! I have a 2019 Vespa Primavera 150 cc. I can go for a 20 minute ride, but when I go to start up again, my Vespa won't start. After 20 minutes, it starts right up. It always starts up immediately when I initially take it out. The Vespa dealer said I need a trickle charger... but it seems crazy that I'll have to take it off and put it back on whenever I want to ride my Vespa. I just followed Robot's directions, bought the voltage meter, got 12.5 when Vespa was off, 12.3 when in accessory mode, and 12.9 when on. Seems too low. Do I buy a new battery? Thank you!

Thank you for the video! Can’t wait to see the update. My GT L was discharging the battery all te times and I didn’t know what was going on then found out the Stator was on its way out. Is there a chance to do the job without taking off the engine? Thank you again!

@vespamotorsport I managed to change the stator myself and been riding around the whole summer time with it! Thank you for your Videos! I am now working on an engine swap and getting ready a 250cc ie engine , carburettor converted on my gt 125 :)

Interesting! I’ve got a 06 fly150 that I’ve been riding regularly and today wouldn’t start. I checked and the battery is at 12.2V so a little low, drops to 11.8 with key on, and down to like 6V when cranking. Struck me as odd since the battery still has above 12V. Could this be a sign of a bad regulator???

Hey robot, I have a rand new supertec gts 300 only done 390 miles, I have noticed that the bike strugglrs to start, on few occasions would not crank over. Now on the LCD screen unique to the Supertec, the message produced is ECU Disconnection Service in Red. Any idea what this means, am taking this to dealership for first service, in next few days, feedback appreciated

My friend and I both have 2013 BV350's. Oddly enough we both have the same issue when starting the scooter. Very frequently, it takes 2-3 attempts to start the scooter. Warm or Cold it makes no difference. We just assume it's a design issue. Is this something that can be fixed? Or not worth fixing?

Hi my on my lml star 2t the lights do not work. They run off the AC with the AC plug un plugged checking with a multimeter there is no voltage coming off the AC wire. So I replaced the stator for a new one and still have the same problem I still have a spark and the engine runs fine and I have checked the resistance to the manual and all good.. Any ideas ?

Hi, I am trying to fix the stop light on a 60-s Vespa. Do I understand correctly, that when the stop light is off, the lead from the coil is shorted to the ground and when you hit the brake the switch cuts the short and the stop light then turns on? Thanks.

I had one of those, 22000 miles and had to dump it, all kinds of problems, no charging, other time no spark, then bad rear bearings,bad master cylinder, and more, lots of problems,cost more to fix than than it was worth.

Before this it was delaying to start until it went completely to just clicking. Any ideas please? Robot or anybody else?

Redo your battery connections. Clean them with a wire brush and reassemble. If that doesnt do it move to the starter relay and jumper it with a wrench. Did it turn over? Yes... Good, replace relay. No? Shit.....check the wires that connect from the key at the relay. There scojld be two smaller wires and a connector near by (14-16ga) Good luck!!

If you watched it you would know it's the VOLTAGE REGULATOR! I'll take a shot in the dark from the hip and guess your is somewhere between a 2005 and a 2009 and has a brown wire connector LOL

If the fan is kicking on after only 1/4 mile from cold engine, sounds like the temp sensor is bad.

Always start with the battery terminals. Many strange issues boil down to a loose battery terminal. Ask me how I know lol.
