The Mopar Electronic Ignition system is a VERY sensitive system, and minute adjustments make all the difference. In this video :
Hook up an oscilloscope and clamp to test existing primary circuit
I demo the existing system, gapped correctly, but still not working properly
I try an off the shelf Amazon Chinese distributor, and find the spark is not that great
Check the new distributor and see somewhat uneven gaps
Replace the pickup and reluctor on the old, with the new
Retest, and find worse results
Gapped properly to less than minimum spec of 0.008", and spark is perfect
Try to fire up car, converging on better and better timing until fire up and run properly
