Could a bad MAF sensor show similar symptoms, with unstable RPM oscillations? I have a 2008. toyota auris 1.6 vvti engine, the check engine light appeared and the OBD reader reports two errors (P0100 and P0103). The car pulls poorly, unstable at idle, over 1500 rpm at idle. I removed the sensor, cleaned it, but all the same... Thnx in advance. Cheers!

Hello, thanks for your video. One question, I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla with 230,000 km of manual gearbox. The fault is that when you turn it on it starts with 1300 rpm and as it warms up it goes up to 2000, that is, it does it the other way around since I understand it should go down to about 900 rpm. and when I'm hot I go out and when I make the gear changes I see that the rpm oscillates between 2000 and 1000 rpm and when I continue the march the minimum is 2000 rpm. If I leave it running stopped the car stays at 2000 rpm. I clarify that with a scanner it does not give an error. Well, we took out the carburetor, total cleaning including the filter's MAF sensor, I clarify that you can't take out the IAC valve to clean it, but the carburetor body was immersed in non-abrasive remover liquids and a lot of dirt came out. We measured TPS and IAC with a multimeter, simulated with power and everything was fine. We checked the pipes that had never been touched and were untouchable. We put everything together and it starts doing the same fault. Then I disconnected the EGR vacuum valve and there the rpm's dropped a little but after five seconds it accelerates and when connected it returns to 2000 rpm. Could it be a fault in the EGR vacuum valve or should I check the PCV valve better and with more reason that MAP sensor or the CAMSHAFT sensor? I don't know where the MAP sensor is located to check it or do these models not have that sensor? thanks for your help

When did this problem occur in your engine? Did you do any engine work?
@enriqueatala25672 жыл бұрын
@@MayoCarsDR Thank you for answering me, The problem was a few months ago, I ask you this question to see if it happened to any car, the car was not repaired and I have the history of Toyota since I am the second owner, it is a 2008 toyota corolla with 230 thousand manual gearbox kmts. 1.8L type 1ZZ-FE engine. The fault is that when you turn it on it starts with 1300 rpm and as it warms up it goes up to 2000, that is, it does the opposite, since I understand it should go down to about 900 rpm. like before. When it's hot I go out and when I make the gear changes I see that the rpm oscillates between 2000 and 1000 rpm. Then I disconnected the PCV vacuum valve and there the rpm's dropped a little but after five seconds the idle speeds up or slows down a lot, I also took it out and cleaned it, it's fine because of the noise it makes despite being 14 years old without being removed and when connected it returns to 2000 rpm. Could it be a fault in the Crankshaft Sensor and cams (CKP and CMP)? Thank you for your patience in reading this bug.

Check if the VVTI of this engine is working properly or not
@enriqueatala25672 жыл бұрын
@@MayoCarsDR when you It says check if the VVTI works well does it mean the camshaft sensor (CMP)? I tell you that I took it out, cleaned it and did the tests with the multimeter and I got 7.6 ohms and then I injected 12 volt pulses and the solenoid moved intermittently, what I needed to measure is the 12 volts reach the connector of that sensor , but I suspect so. I want to remind you that the dashboard check of this car never turned on and to prove that I disconnected some sensors and it did turn on and that when the scanner was put on at the beginning of this failure, it did not give any error. What I would need to check would be the crankshaft sensor (CKP), which I haven't done yet because of how uncomfortable it is to remove it and it would be the only thing I would need to check...
