ok, i have 4 Nodules in my lungs 9mm,6mm,5mm, 4mm respectivelly. can i get done a Pet Scan to see if i have cancer?

Is it possible for someone to have a CT scan to check the gallbladder which revealed zero cancer to then have a further CT scan five weeks later which revealed a 3cm tumor which had spread to the liver giving a prognosis of 4 to 8 weeks to live.

How much cumulative radiation does the average person receive in one of these machines for a full body scan? People are wanting to avoid the dangers of radiation more and more now with Fukushima. How can people recognize whether they are under a PET scanner or a PET-CT scanner? Can the machine operate one or the other independently or are both used simultaneously? Would people need separate tracers for each procedure? Is there a gap between pictures taken by the PET and CT portions so people know if both parts of the machine are being usedt? What kinds of tracers would be used?
