In classical fencing this is called an over bind, great to see it applied with weapons and empty hands, thank you

Like water. This guy is insanely good in the way he's teaching. It's not about how much skill do you have in order to apply the same technique in different ways but the focus on the economy of motion here which in these examples is exactly what's turning the disadvantage into advantage.

Really enjoying these videos, BTW I asked a Bak Mei history question in the comments on your last yin yang video. As for this video it gave me insight on part of the previous question concerning why Bak Mei techniques are what they are. For example I'm a big fan of the Keysi method because I've used it against multiple opponents in real fights, HOWEVER, that worked for me because of the basic root I had from jik bo. Coming from a prison background where riots occur and riot squads don't have your best interest even when you aren't involved I saw the reason for the basic marine corps techniques which work ok for fighting but are designed to cope with enemies in body armor. Keysi also works well against body armor. Now, assuming Bak Mei Pai was training Kuo Min Tang to resist red army with helmets and flack jackets and possibly wearing back packs and using rifles with bayonets it's becoming more clear what Bak Mei is designed to do and why bridge and limb destruction as well as eye, throat and under arm striking with fingers and phoenix eye are emphasized as well as tremor power because you must work around or penetrate the body armor. The types of movements with Bak Mei chair or bench also look more obvious now if I assume it's to fight multiple armored soldiers. Any thoughts? I've never seen these aspects of Bak Mei discussed.

Also, one other bit of history I'm trying to research on the communist resistance theory, is the use of the name and history of the monk Bak Mei for GM Chuengs Pai, was that simply about Chueng being defeated by a Bak Mei master? Or is it connected to the resistance? For example Bak Mei was a "traitor" to Shaolin according to the legend, but it has parallels because Shaolin is now a major PR tool for communist china. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but there are alot dots I can't find connected in our English kung fu history.
