I remember that Gfriend tried to do a more "powerful" rather than girly concept and it didn't sell as well. I also read an article where a lot of Korean males preferred innocent cute girl group concepts rather than bad ass ones...so it's a marketing thing, and I agree with you. :/ wish it was different

minju and halla are really good dancers wow and the group has a lot of charisma and potential I'm so glad they're starting by going hard like that, I feel like this is what we as fans needed from a girl group :) I know everyone and their mother has already said it but they really do give off the bangtan vibe... the debut days, the no more dream/n.o era vibe... but coming from an army like me it's a real compliment because to me bangtan have it all - talent, personality, charisma - and I'm seeing it in The Ark too :') if bangtan were to ever have a sister group, the ark is a very strong contender I'm looking forward to what they show us in the future :D

I really don't care about fandoms, although I love YG artists I don't call myself a YG-stan because it just sounds funny. But you people have to be a bit considerate towards other fandoms. The responsibility also goes towards the idols because other idol groups (mainly POP) shine their reputation as idols while BTS gives a certain different type of fanservice. That's what happens with hip-hop groups especially YG. They're developed to share music rather than be famous. These pop idols treat their fans as if they only have them (e,g. "I love you, only you. You are my everything.."). But in BTS, BIGBANG, 2NE1 etc. you rarely hear those words because they show that they are also human and have control over themselves, and they're almost free to date. How idols treat their fandom affects people's mental state. And this is common with "idols."

After the disbandment, Im still following their main instagrams. knowing that some of them having their own family and happy with their lives right now, I'm glad that they found their true happiness. If these girls weren't disbanded, I am absolutely certain that today, they would be just as popular and successful as BTS, especially internationally. But what do you even expect? They have done countless covers, and their BTS one is the most popular, so OF COURSE they will get comoared to BTS! That does not make them any less themselves. People stan a group because of the traits of THAT GROUP! I stanned The Ark before I saw their cover videos and dance practices, so me saying this is just an over-hyped version of "dang! Their dancing style is similar to BTS!" and if you don't see the similarities then I don't know WHAT to say. The Ark is a NEW group. Literally EVERY new group gets compared to older groups? Why? Because fans need something to associate this new group with until the new group produces more of their own music. The ark has onle ONE song, so fans (many of them also being ARMYs) are gonna try and find something familiar within that group Astro is currently being compared to B1A4 and Seventeen and even Boyfriend ( I actually agree with those comparisons LOL) MonstaX was compared to BAP Seventeen was compared to Super Junior and EXO MyB was compared to Red Velvet iKon is being compared to BIGBANG (which I can see why) You see the pattern here? Even BTS and EXO were being compared to other groups, but as time went by and they produced more and more of their own work and develop more of their own style, the general comparisons will die down. Let's start a petition for BigHit to adopt the Ark. They don't have to debut right away. They can train until BigHit thinks they're ready and debut them. Any good agency would be good as long as they comeback. But BigHit suits them. I guess GLAM kinda scared them.

they had so much potential and could have been so big if they continued, but their company didn't promote them well. I wish that they entered a different entertainment company. In an interview one member claimed that she had something wrong with her throat (I forgot what it was) but it affect her ability to sing. After that one wanted to leave the group because of stress and then the other members just went their own way. TT I miss them
