Yeah DBT is changing my life! It took a few therapists and me getting to where I could begin to change. Noticing when a thought or emotion jumps up is key. Thinking dialectically is very challenging and radical acceptance is a very gradual process. Interpersonal was/is the worst, to confront your core and not just be an actor! And it revealed, at least for me how huge of a doormat and frightened I learned to be. My DBT therapist talked me (not the first) into residential treatment and to get a life worth living. Invalidating, rageful, was the name of the game growing up no connection, no affection. DBT has taken a long time but Id like to say this therapist really helped me because she did *not display or respond with emotion to me, unless when tactful. I had over emotional therapists that I split on immediately and repeatedly. This one made me angry a few times and I almost dropped a few times, but she is saving my life. I really like the content on this channel and the range of experts/advice and insights, has helped along the way several times.

I am experiencing improvement in my ADHD symptoms by using principles of mindfulness, dialectics, and self-compassion. Lectures such as this one validate my journey in self-improvement.

Incredibly informative. Thank-you for sharing this valuable information. It’s incredible the positive difference passion, interest and the need to assist those who struggle with mental difficulties can have on individuals and even society. Thank-you for your hard work!

How does DBT Work for a person who have dysfunctional family problems as often it’s difficult to try convince families to accept DBT therapy which leads only one person out family opting for DBT. Which less likely resolving whole family problems.

It's too bad the patient can't be treated as a REAL friend by their therapist who probably BELIEVES they are much luckier than their client to be who they are. That's not how friendship works! And from my own experience love is what helped me to like myself.... nothing else was working.

Should pro vax people be able to push their opinions and agendas on people who don't agree with them? Put what you want into your body and I'll put what I want into my own! "Settled science" isn't science at all, it's propaganda!

I probably teach mindfulness side that I actually got invited to a group once from a friend didn’t knew what it was about fully they happened to be antivaxers and very strong opinion types I at first started felt uneasy as I have had vaccines and believe different way to them I had a interesting thought in mind it’s kinda Buddhist minded thinking I thought actually that group can teach me patience and mindfulness for real situation as they debate I validated it as there chosen way of life avoided thinking it’s a wrong choice seeing it difference with harmony as well as believing vaccines can prevent serious illnesses combined.

Neither in DBT groups, nor in comments to this video, would it be appropriate or helpful to focus on political agendas that distract us from the intended content.

I won't go to groups anymore because they let certain people break rules like picking on other people in the group
