Hmmmm do you have a special track pump or can u use a normal one too iv alway use a shox pump but sometime its hard getting the high psi
@Windband15 жыл бұрын
It was interesting to see Jordi use a regular pump for that fork. But it makes sense. Forks take very little pressure and a regular bike pump can do at least 120-150. So it's easy. You have to use an actual "shock pump" for the rear shock though, because then you are looking at well over 150 or even 200 lbs of air, to fill them up. Cheers.
@azonicds5 жыл бұрын
If the fork is sucking down badly when releasing the air side, is there air trapped in the neg chamber or something else? How do I solve it? Thanks for the awesome series!
@Windband15 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's trapped in the negative chamber. To let air out, use the same process as putting in. Let out 20 lbs, then cycle the fork slowly 10-15 times, repeat until it's empty. That should help the air equalize and get out of the neg chamber. Cheers.

Ptfe fluid for the damper side? Why not on both sides?

Because one side is the air spring where thicker fluid (or grease) tends to work better and your not worried about fluid contamination, like on the damper side...Just a guess.

@ImDunklenTurm4 жыл бұрын
There is no difference except the lowers are for 29er wheels, so they are longer. The rest of the fork is the same, I think even the piston shafts have the same length. Thats probably why they stopped calling the 29er 40 "49" for the 2021 model. There is nothing to "compare" there, it's the same fork for different wheel sizes.

So, as a bike mechanic, i've seen my faire share of people trying to put air into their suspension with a tire pump, and we've been told countless times to not use a tire pump by suspension companies because it is high pressure instead of low pressure. How come Jordi is using one and maybe explain to people that not every tire pump works the same!? A lot of people will see this video and think, oh jordi does it, then I can do it the same?

@TheFluffytire4 жыл бұрын
Vikingos DH the oil change process is the same for the coils. The difference being on the newer models is the damper is an open bath I believe so you use a damper fluid in the damper side for both lubrication of the lower leg and the damper, and a different fluid on the non damping side. On the coils it’s the same fluid for both legs but a separate service all together for changing the damper oil as they’re closed bath
