Great video as always. What's nice about the simple led mechanism is that generic or store brand shoes can do it cheaply so that families who barely pay the bills can still get something that their kids friends have and not feel left out. Before you even said anything, I was thinking to myself how the mechanism looked like it was encased in resin😄. Glad to "see" you. Blessings.

Thanks my friend! You make a good point about the cost effectiveness of the mechanism... I really don't think it adds much to the overall cost of production (at least in terms of cost of parts). This has truly been a different / odd year. Every time I think I'm able to get back into a good flow making projects and videos something new comes up that has a major impact on my "free time." But that seems to be the status quo in the world lately. That said (hopefully not jinxing anything) I think I am back on track.

@@DialedInDIY nice. I totally understand. Everybody seems to all of a sudden to catch up with everything they couldn't get done during covid. Some good, some bad.........lately, its been the same with me. Just constantly running around trying to keep the bigger "fires" under control while running around trying to stop the small ones before they flare up. 😄👍 Hope you're able to get back into your groove, video projects or not.

Probably a bit different from your normal comments but I just wanted to say a massive thank you, I bought some Skechers recently for my 3 year old daughter but I would normally avoid at all costs anything with button batteries in for obvious reasons, I knew the shoes would have them in for the lights but you have calmed my anxiety and worry on how they are glued in the shoe and a child could never get to the battery itself … again thank you 😊

My 2-year-old child has a pair of Skechers Heart Light shoes. I noticed that the light on the left shoe has been continuously flickering without stopping for the past three days. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to locate an on/off or reset switch on the shoe. Could you please advise on how I might troubleshoot this issue?

What is the sensor called exactly for this ? Im looking for these exact components but in smallest sizes possible.
@DialedInDIY2 жыл бұрын
They are mechanical vibration switches / sensors. I found the following description on Adafruit: "These spring-vibration switches are high sensitivity non-directional vibration induced trigger switches. Inside is a very soft spring coiled around a long metal pin"

also what are the exact measurment of the panel with battery? and what would it be without protection? im sorry for these questions, i know they are very specific lol, it would really help me out. :)
@DialedInDIY2 жыл бұрын
No worries about the questions at all. Unfortunately I do not have exact measurements on these. I did a quick check to see if I had the part somewhere easy to find and I did not. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and post a comment / question. [So sorry for the delay... life kinda got in the way for a bit]

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my video and post a comment. I really appreciate it. Sorry for the delay in reply. Because you're not supposed to. The batteries last 100,000 hours. That's over 10 years. And they are children's shoes. They will outgrow them years before the battery runs out.

@@I_WANT_MY_SLAW did you test them for 10 years? No what it lasts that long.
