George Muller leaving for the foreign mission field at age 70 for 17 years is incredible. Especially since he was the leader of the orphan ministry in Bristol for years before this. Brother Muller loved the Word of God and depended on God to supply his every need.

God knows what is needed before we ask for it. He answers a faithful prayer and does it in such a way that we can only attribute it to Hus supernatural providence. I rejoice in my weakness for the Lord's strength achieves exponentially more than I could ever achieve for His glory.

As to the other means of grace, I would say, I fell into the snare into which so many young believers fall, the reading of religious books in preference to the Scriptures. I read tracts, missionary papers, sermons, and biographies of godly persons. I never had been at any time of my life in the habit of reading the Holy Scriptures. When under fifteen years of age, I occasionally read a little of them at school; afterwards God's precious book was entirely laid aside, so that I never read one single chapter of it till it pleased God to begin a work of grace in my heart. Now the scriptural way of reasoning would have been: God himself has consented to be an author, and I am ignorant about that precious book, which his Holy Spirit has caused to be written through the instrumentality of his servants, and it contains that which I ought to know, the knowledge of which will lead me to true happiness; therefore I ought to read again and again this most precious book of books, most earnestly, most prayerfully, and with much meditation; and in this practice I ought to continue all the days of my life. But instead of acting thus, my difficulty in understanding it, and the little enjoyment I had in it, made me careless of reading it; and thus, like many believers, I practically preferred, for the first four years of my divine life, the works of uninspired men to the oracles of the living God. Pray to your Heavenly Father, open your Bible and listen, He will lead you to whatever specific thing you aren’t sure of. God knows you better than you know yourself, He knows your life better than you know it. Trust in Faith that He cares more about you than you care about yourself. The answers will come in His timing. Isaiah 55:8-9

Muller wasn't a cessationist 8:10 38k answered prayers not 3k 9:01 pray specifically but if God doesn't communicate or speak or act bc He has ceased then why pray specifically? Especially if everything is predetermined ahead of time and you have no free will to be able to act to change anything.

If a person decides to pick up orphaned children lying on the street and raise them in safety, what has he done with his free will? Did it affect his own life and the lives of others? With free will, we can save lives and destroy lives, including our own lives. You have to get out of the trap of prejudice, because over time it fills you with blind spots. AND because of the blind spots, you will only see distorted images of life and God.

You may not understand what he’s really saying. It’s not that’s it’s a spirit of heaviness but it’s rather part of the Christian walk, keep in mind Paul Washer comes from a very Reformed Background so most Charismatic interests may not be the route he chooses.

1 John 1:8-9. There's a difference between struggling with sin versus walking in outright rebellion. If you're advocating for sinless perfection in this life, it's unattainable. Just read Paul's words in Romans 7. The strongest saint will occasionally fail God at some point, yet He giveth grace to the humble. Those who say they have not committed any sin at all since they've been saved are liars. I pray you're not among them.

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. Whosoever commits sin, Is the servant of sin. That’s once a while or everyday. A servant of sin. Even Paul told you; Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness If you still sin Ron, You are still under the law. Are believers under the law? 1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth ALSO the LAW: for sin is the transgression of the law. Ron, question for you; If a believer is not under the law, And dead to the law; How can he transgress that law? How can you break a law you are not under?
