Hello just recently followed u. Thank u for doing this! Really help me refresh on dialysis theory and helps w/ nursing practice. I would like for u to discuss dialysis complications - emergency complications.

I enjoy watching your videos as they make learning about dialysis both engaging and comprehensible. Would it be possible for you to create a video discussing the common emergency scenarios that acute and chronic nurses may encounter during dialysis, along with appropriate intervention/management strategies? Thanks.

Hey Lindsey! new to HD here and been watching your videos too, it's helping me understand HD more and more. One question though, what was the 50% mean? in Conductivity profile 150-135 @ 50%? thanks again
@dialysisnurselindsey6 ай бұрын
thanks for your question! I believe it has to do with how quickly the sodium changes. 75% would be more quickly than 50%.

Hi! I have watched all of your videos as they are extremely helpful for me as a new dialysis nurse at Davita! Can you please make a video more in depth about when you would use a crit-line and how you would adjust a patient’s target weight depending on the profile? I understand the three different profiles. Also what the last hct means at the end of the treatment to see if refill is occurring. I guess I’m just having difficulty understanding how to tell if target weight needs to be adjust when crit lining and what the hct can tell us. Hopefully that made sense. Thank you!

Thanks for the info so client's with high sodium levels what will be their treatment plan ?
@dialysisnurselindsey Жыл бұрын
Not always. I haven’t seen many patients with high sodium levels. Usually low sodium levels because of dilution. Those patients are not usually on a conductivity profile. Thank u!

At my clinic, the total dialysate sodium concentration is 137mEq, which begs the question: how can the dialysis machine sodium level be set higher than 137?
@raymondpatrick14152 жыл бұрын
I have a huge problem at my dialysis clinic techs and nurses always hurt me with machine setting. The techs and nurses always say the machine sets the setting automatically today around 30 to 40 min left in my treatment I start feeling bad I started getting dizzy feeling discomfort in my head chest and stomach. The thing I noticed was my conductivity was fluctuating real fast between 13.4 to 13.5 in a blinking frequency then it went up to 15.0 for about 2mins then back to 13.4 to 13.5 blinking again to my session was done I felt real bad after my treatment and I have breathing problem now. And I have trying to leave this place since January 2022 with no success I'm still here. And I'm still here. Please help October 20 2022

Is there a relationship between CO2 and sodium bicarbonate? I'm trying to understand this.
@dialysisnurselindsey2 жыл бұрын
Not as it relates to the machine. But this is a great video topic idea! There is a relation to the kidneys and co2 when it comes to acid/base balance. I’m the hospital u will see people on a bicarbonate drip who have a kidney injury

Very nice explaination. Thank You very much for making the video. I wanted to know this since long time. At the facility where I go for Dialysis I have observed that patients are unaware of dry weight concept. They need to be educated. I am already suggesting your videos to everyone at the facility.
