I love seeing how far you've progressed since I first started watching. How do you feel about 18k palladium white gold? I've never seen it in person, but have heard it needs no rhodium plating to keep it's white look.

@@TaprootMetalworks thank you~ on 18K palladium, ive not yet worked with it, so im not sure how it feels. Palladium is also a platinum group metal, so it makes sense for the gold obsessed people. Personally i think there is more reason to go towards platinum in this day and age where gold is pricing out, and platinum is staying mostly the same price, and its more enduring as its worn.

@@GemologyforSchmucks I'll agree with platinum being a better value. I think it's the choice metal for Star stones, based on its origin. IF I was going for something extra special, ide probably opt for the 18k palladium white, as it only contains precious metals. Arguably the most valuable, Usable, gold alloy for daily wear imo.

Like your work. Had a quick look at New Approach, where to stay etc. Good tip on cleaning, you don't mention ultra-sonic cleaning? (relating to true emeralds / diamonds mix)

@@barrymunro6861 thank you for your kind words~ as to ultra sonic, while its usually a great idea, its deeply inadviseable to use with emeralds of almost any kind. Emeralds tend to have internal fissures and the ultrasonic waves are likely to cause those fissure to continue, possibly even breaking your stone. Also, on such heavily caked on crud and nastiness, ultrasonic tends to be less effective. If you soak (non emerald) jewelry in lye first for a few hours, it can then go in ultrasonic for a more thorough clean. Cheers~
