There's enough space inside the mounting tube to accommodate one of the smaller lightning arresters - which might not be a bad idea in lightning - prone areas!

I just bought this for my RTL-SDR, it's a very cool antenna, the only downside I see is that you have to remove some radials to access the screws to then access the connector. I have this on a temporary rig and when I'm putting it on the roof I have to dissassemble half of the antenna to reach the connector :P

The grubscrews that hold the radials in place are all M5; it's not difficult to replace them with M5 knurled screws that make rapid assembly and disassembly very simple.

You should really use LMR400 with a proper NMO connector at the antenna connection. Also anti-seize is recommended on the mounting hardware. Dialectric grease is best on the radials and loctite down the nuts/hex screws where appropriate.

How did you connect the pole that has the u-bolts around it to the tripod? Is the pole screwed into the tripod mount screw? (5/8 or 3/4) What kind of tripod is used for the base?:)

Hmm did you calibrate your NanoVNA? My D3000N is under 2.0 SWR from approximately 140 Mhz to 1 Ghz.
