Great video -- That this seems WAY faster and more efficient than a drum machine. I know each has their purpose, but the disc has a really good argument for being the one to go with for "most" work...

Really enjoyable and satisfying video Sheppard. I hope I spelled your name correctly. 😊 I agree with you about that Diamond belt driven disc mulching head. It looks very impressive. Looking forward to seeing more videos soon. You seem like a very outstanding young man.

owned one of those and it's a animal. I cleared lots of really thick brush with that much quicker than a drum could do

Для 19 лет, очень хорошо работаешь. Я тоже хотел приобрести мульчер, только на базе экскаватора для уборки кустарника на железной дороге. Но слишком дорогой и я отказался).

I now this is an old video, so hope you see this comment. But was wandering if you were clean 80 years of under growth to be converted into a lawn. Would you use the disc or drum mulcher?

Great video. Just one question. Does the muncher leave the little stumps?

I may have missed it- Is this the 60" disc- and which motor? Gear or Piston? I agree the 20 second spool up isn't that bad. I've wondered how a lesser HP machine handles these heads. Diamond 60" with 100hp carrier is how I"m looking to go. Their BeltDrive system seems an upgrade, but man, they want a LOT more $$$$ for a couple pulleys and a belt- I think I"m going to stay with their direct drive system.

This is a 60 in with the piston. I spent some time on a 333 with an older gear motor. The difference is night and day. Definitely do not get a gear motor on a lesser hp tractor. I do think the belt drive would be a great purchase and would be better on the machine but I don’t know if the additional money they want is worth it

48" or 60"? Thanks for the video. Got a 74hp high-flow track loader and trying to decide on a mulching head.

I have never personally used the 48 inch but I can explain why I went with the 60. 1. The 48 isn’t as wide as the tractor so therefore I personally believed that it would cause increased scratches and minor damages to the machine. 2. I believe that with this head it’s more of a momentum thing. Therefore if the machine will turn the 48 and 60 the same speed but the cutting disc in one weighs a couple hundred more pounds it will cut a lot better. However the big one does take a while to spin up on a 74 hp tractor as seen in the video but the new belt drive head diamond mowers released should eliminate that. But with that one it has more moving parts so could mean more maintenance but I don’t know. All the products I’ve seen from them have been sound so I wouldn’t worry about it that much.
