Thank you so much! I just got some Blue Tack but only knew about using it for the pen. I’m new to DP so I’m trying to learn as much as I can from more experienced painters. Thanks again!

I'm finding this a year later. I'm new to diamond painting. Your tip about ways to incorporate Blu Tack into your diamond painting are extremely helpful. I use a similar product called Fun-Tak here in the States in my home office and I love it! I have the exact same craft board as yours. I am def going to be using your idea of Fun-Tak on the bottom of my tray to hold it on the board. I also have arthritis in my hands so holding the tray for long periods can be painful. I'll also keep the pool noodle idea in mind. I"m only working smallish pieces for now but that will come in handy in the future!!! Thanks !!!

I just started diamond paiting about a week ago but have already picked up some of your tips. I have been using a board like yours and as I'm only doing a small one at the moment it rests quite nicely on the ledge at the bottom. I have also found that if I use a big piece of blue tack I can fill in part of the ledge so that the dish sits perfectly on it - that way I don't need to keep moving it around. Great video xx

Awesome idea about the blue tac on the bottom of the drill tray to hold it in place! I have been doing small pieces, and I made my own lap desk which holds my light board, but I was having to hold the tray of drills, or try to balance it between the lap desk and me! No fun picking up all of those drills out that fell out! 😂 Great video, thanks for the great tips! 😊

Hi, I must make myself a lap desk to avoid more neck pain. Would you mind to let me know of show how you made yours please?
@hislambcreations
@hislambcreations 4 жыл бұрын
Louisetta Schmidt Hi mine is just simply a piece of memory foam with some material I sewed around it and then on top of that, I glued a piece of dry erase board (so I can write on it too if I want.) 😂 I “framed” the board with duck tape, and also taped a plastic straw across the bottom to keep pens and pencils from sliding off. It’s very DIY, and homemade. But the memory foam makes it very comfortable. And you can make it any size you want. Hope that helps!

Those are some great tips, and the size of that is astounding, and square drills frighten me, but I'm a newbie. lol! If anyone reads this... what can I use to replace the clear canvas covers with something more textured, visible, and won't easily tear off on a weird tangent? Thanks!

Pool noodles have pretty colors; if you get a piece of plumbing pipe insulation, same kind of stuff, usually black, but it's already split lengthwise. Generally you have to cut the pool noodle if you want to slide it over an edge. If that's what I see here? What a great idea, either way.

Hi! Do the diamonds stay on for good without eventually popping off? Do you put a finishing glaze over the piece when it’s completed? I’m looking forward to starting my first diamond painting project!

Lauire Freese: I've just finished my first diamond project, and am wondering what proper sealant to use. I hear the backing glue is good for about three years before it dries enough that the beads begin falling. So you would do well to seal it even if you're going to display it under glass (which I am). I also hear that 'non-glare" glass used for some kinds of artwork can disguise all the sparkle in these...it's costlier, too, so I won't be using that.

@@jilliansmith7123 I am also very curious about sealing these or something for display and preservation.

I just love your voice and accent (I know, you don't have an accent, I do). There's something so warming to it. Does Australia have regional accents? If so, what region are you from?Interesting video, by the way, good solutions. I don't plan to do one that big. It would've been fun to see what the final work is supposed to be. I always wonder.

Hi Anne I love your diamond painting set up .I have 2 questions.Firstly the blue thing you attach at the top, I just cannot catch what you are saying, can you right it down for me? It sounds like a poo noodle lol. Secondly do you get on with a small light pad when on bigger painting as you must have to keep shifting it around. Hope you do more videos, loved this one and thanks very much for showing.

Linda Hammond The blue thing she’s talking about is a Pool Noodle. (people use them for swimming to help them stay afloat) however they have many other uses. Hope that helps with one of your questions! 😊

Linda Hammond You’re most welcome!! I’m not a swimmer either, I use those pool noodles in my boots, I cut them the height of the boots, and put them inside. Helps them stand up straight and keep their shape year round.

@lindahammond6370

The small laptop desk I use is sold on ebay number 263851880361. It is called Mind Reader Adjustable 8 position lap top desk with cushions. I saw this demonstrated by a diamond painter on you tube I use this for small small part drill designs.It is ideal to use while watching the TV. I also have ordered the wooden one which I think Anne uses or similar it is sold on ebay number 192488469910 It is called Pablo A2 wooden art craft workstation. I would think you would be able to get them all on amazon as well. I like Anne's idea for being set up on a table for large designs so you do not have to keep putting it away all the time My favourite place to do small ones, is on top of my lap top at a window as my A4 light box uses a USB. I can watch the birds feeding at the same time. I use Elizabeth ward tiny container Bead storage.The containers are very small, but remember you can use more than one container for a colour. My husband have given me some cigarette clear storage containers which are quite a lot larger.I have also stolen some of his zip lock bags which are quite a bit larger than the ones given in the kits and the green trays just fit nicely when putting the beads back in the bag so they do not spill.

What do you do when you get the same DMC number but the color is slightly different? Do you still put them together or do a whole new number storage bin for them?
@jilliansmith7123
@jilliansmith7123 6 жыл бұрын
sispamjo: here's what I would do...1. make a new storage bin and use on areas that are separated by some space in the picture OR 2. toss them all together and shake it up. Use as they come out, randomly. That would give artistic "depth" to the color...but either way would work fine. Depends on how you feel about it. It's your artwork now!
