Hi, welcome to the World of Diamond Painting. I’m also kind of a. Shimmer but I just want to offer a tip that you can share. In the zip lock bags that you are using you will note that some of the drills cling to upper part of the envelope. I learned through seasoned diamond painters that if you cut a little piece of a dryer sheet and put it in the bag it will alleviate the static cling. Also you can take an entire sheet and pour each color on it and rub it together and then pour into bag. You will see they do not cling anymore. If they do just repeat the process. Believe me you are going to be hooked. It’s very relaxing and calming. Good luck to all and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

I am so glad that you reminded me about the dryer sheet!!! I need someone to sit next to me and tell me everything that I have forgotten to say - LOL!!! I have little pieces of dryer sheets in some of my containers, but not all - just depends on if they have much static! I will try and remember to mention that on my next video. I have already done another one on framing, but I will get it in on the next one!! Maybe you can help be my adviser - i need all the help I can get!!! I love doing these, they relax and calm me!! I love my harbor freight boxes. The best thing is if you miss a drill you can just open the box and dip your pen into the drills without having to put them in the tray. I actually use the boxes for drills with a lot and use the baggies for the ones that have only a little!! 😊I love your channel.

Hi Frances!!! Thank you, I actually made that T-shirt. I used to make these shirts many years ago, using Swarovski Crystals and shiny metal pieces. I always told my ESL kids that I was the Reina, as a joke, so had to make this shirt - lol!! I think your mom would enjoy this also - it is very relaxing and a good way to get your mind on other things. Another comment, this time with tips: 1. Not every DP will use the same colors ...however *most* use DMC colors which usually do match (but sometimes not due to Lot #). 2. Save unused drills in case you ever run out on other paintings...even if you don't have the exact match, a very close match can work in a pinch. 3. If you tilt the boat a little bit when shaking the drills, it helps them settle face-up a little faster. 4. I don't suggest rolling paintings the other way when you get this, this *can* displace the film cover and the glue. Instead, just peel back the cover off the glue about halfway, then with the painting laying flat, press the cover back down...do this on each side. It will lay flat when done. There are literally TONS of YT videos out there for beginners to DP... be sure to check them all out and find what tips/tricks/hacks work best for you! Thanks for your video!

I use those same containers from Harbor Freight for my seed bead collection (I also make jewelry). If you take those little boxes and put them on their sides, you can 4 rows of 6 containers (6 from back to front).. use the little pieces of foam inside on either end so they don't slosh around. But all 24 boxes will fit on their sides and you can see into each one.

I am getting my first one on Thursday (the owl with blue coloring) and I think I am gonna do the baggie method as then it takes up less space and is reusable better than little containers because buying 100 little baggies is far cheaper then a bunch of jars thanks again!

Hello Grace. The diamond paintings are absolutely beautiful. Here's a tip for the symbols... If you have a copier where you can increase the size of what you're copying, then print the symbols larger so they're easly read, then you can cut and tape the symbols to the storage containers which can be easily removed when your done and you won't damage the original key.

That is such a fantastic idea!! I don't have a copier that will do that, but I will have to think of a way that I can do it. I do also draw the symbols, as they are pretty easy, but wow, printing them out larger would be fantastic!! Thank you for that great idea!!

As a yarnaholic, I’m sure you’re familiar with dye lots. Guess what! Drills can have the same issues. Most of the time, combining drills from kit to kit, or adding packets you’ve purchased individually isn’t a big problem. The difference is negligible, however I’ve run across a few that look like totally different colors. Of course it took me two “lopsided” moments to learn to look before combining. Unless you really like sorting drills, be aware that this happens. Thanks for the video and welcome to the growing community of addicts!

I was bought 3 to be put away for my birthday in Feb and I completed them all very quickly and was obsessed from there. I was bought another 5 more to replace my birthday stuff and I ordered myself some. I've done around 20 now but nothing bigger than a 40x30 or 30x40. I keep hearing about aliexpress so I thought I would give them a try ( a try been 14 paintings 😂). I was impressed with one seller as i ordered on the 28/3 and it arrived today been 6/4. I thought that was super. I have learnt my lesson on the detailed ones as I have 4 and I can only notice 2 of them so I want to get them in a bigger canvas. I also want to try the angled pens as I struggle to see.

It sounds like the diamond painting bug has bitten you 😊 It really is so much fun!! You have done quite a few in a short amount of time - that's great! If you have a lot of detail in a picture, you definitely need to get a bigger size or you won't be able to tell what it is - lol!! I love my light board, because it really does help me see those tiny little symbols - it really is a great investment if you are going to do a lot of diamond painting. Have fun diamond painting!! 😊💖

Love your channel. You have such a positive attitude and you are thorough in your explanations of the subjects you are talking about. I have a question. How concave or convex can a drill be and still be usable? Sometimes the drills that come in the less expensive kits are not completely flat on the bottom. Some are completely unusable while others are concave to varying degrees. I really don't like to use other glues and I don't always frame the paintings behind glass. If anyone can help me with this question I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking for the answer to this question in various places, so if anyone has an answer to this problem, please let me know. Thank you Judith!! I have found that most drills are not flat, and I haven't had a problem with them falling off, even on the ones that I haven't framed. I really don't know how long they will hang on without being framed, as not as much of the drill is touching the canvas. I would think that most of them will be fine with just a small bit of a curve, as they are very lightweight and the edges fit securely on the canvas. There are a lot of unanswered questions in this hobby, as it is fairly new, and no one has had a completed canvas for years to be able to see the longevity of them. I really wish I could give you a more definitive answer.

Read about the tip to lay it flat. Peel the plastic of the sticky layer. To the half way point. 4 "halfs" and it will lay flat..

when you first open your paintings, I just pull apart the corners about 3/4 of the way down the pic, then pulling the paper back up and resealing them, it will make the pic lay flat and not roll up

if you peel up each corner all the way to the middle then lay it back down it will be flat. I saw it on several other videos.

Hi Adele!! Yes, the smaller ones don't have as much detail, but when you first start out doing this, I would choose a small one, so you can learn how to do it, and see if you like it. It really isn't complicated, and I will do some more videos, and take it a bit slower on how to get organized. I think I would do a diamond painting giveaway on one of my diamond painting videos, because those are the ones who would be most interested!! Keep watching :) -Grace

You can find kits that are much cheaper on AliExpress - that's where I buy most of mine. You can also find them on Amazon and Ebay. I watch Rose all the time - she's very creative!! It is a fun hobby.

I order my diamond paintings from either Amazon or AliExpress.com - I don't have them in any of the stores where I live either. just peel back the paper half way, place it back down then do the same thing on the other side , and voila its flat !!! otherwise you could damage the canvas

Ali Express allows you to select your size. Amazon in my country isn't economical most times. eBay in most cases don't give you a selection in sizes. I have just had a shipping failure on four painting from a vendor on eBay. The vendor was great, contacting me first, offering an immediate refund. They did have tracking. The problem I don't like with Ali Express is you need to use your credit card. Whereas eBay I use PayPay and have assurance of refunds if there are any failures. I haven't had an issue with Ali so far.

Thank goodness the vendor on eBay was helpful. I normally pay with PayPal on AliExpress - I know there are some stores that don't accept it, but most of the ones I buy from do - it might be different in your country. I know I've had some others complain that in their country, AliExpress didn't accept PayPal. I'm like you - I don't like giving out my credit card information. Luckily, Amazon is great here, and I haven't had any trouble with them. No problems with Ali either, thank goodness!!
