Very nice video. I use the metal tins from dollar tree. They have a clear top so you see your drills. They are magnetic on the bottom that works well with my metal desk I use. Now none of them fall off my table. They are large but eliminate the need of the trays. I can drill right from the containers and its so much quicker. I don't like pouring them in the tray and then returning them back to you chosen containers. They are a bit pricey. One dollar for two small or one large. I bought a few each time I went into the store and now have enough to do a whole painting. Easy to open and close tight as they just pull off. New subscriber and look forward to seeing more videos of yours.

Just for future reference on the tic tax boxes the whole lid comes off to fill. You don’t have to use the spout.

Instead of alcohol/nail polish remover, you can write over the sharpie with dry erase marker. It takes the sharpie off!

i have the 60 screw top bottles adore them and quick hint all i do and n ever had to worry about new labels is use the numerical numbers works great because all the symbols on our charts are numbered if not just add it

i got the little clear containers from dollar tree they work great but you really do have to be careful opening them the bigger one not so bad but the smaller one is hard to hold and open specially when ur hands hurt

Im new to diamond painting so im still trying to find the right storage container. Currently im using a pill holder i got at the dollar store. It has 24 compartments but it is so small and everytime i try to open one color 3 open up and the diamonds get mixed up. Ughh it is so annoying and time consuming trying to pick up all these little diamonds lol. The diamond painting im gonna start tomorrow has 33 colors so im trying to figure out what to do.... Thank u for this video. Very helpful. Hopefully i can find something good asap

To label your containers, do you write the DD Number that has 4 numbers or the serial number that has 3 numbers? I'm a very organized person and my gems not being organized is bothering me lol. I just bought a diamond art tool kit today at Michael's and I'm obsessed. I'm really getting into diamond art and I love your videos so much.

I label my containers with the DMC number, and the symbol that's on the canvas. I use the DMC number so that when I have leftovers, I can find my other leftover drills with the same number, and just pour them in together. Then, if I'm missing drills for a project, or want to create my own project, I have everything stored and sorted using the standardized DMC number. There's no right or wrong way to do it though, I'm sure you'll find a system that works for you! 💖

Are the symbols for all different types of diamond paintings or do the actual kits themselves have the symbols because mine that I have when it says j4764-01 all of the packages say that but the last number is different so when it says j4764 is that what it is for the only one painting but never a time when any of that repeats with other paintings I'm just confused about the whole labeling thing

@@kimberlyturner8374 It depends on the company for Diamond Art Club they use similar symbols in all their paintings the difference is their symbols correspond to different colors. Whatever company you are buying from their legend sounds confusing. Each kit comes with a legend that assigns symbols to a color

Do you know what the storage box you use from Michael’s is called is it in the Diamond painting section I use tic tak ones to store leftovers also where did you get the round lil one that holds 8 colors I think I’ve seen something like it at dollar tree

I don't remember what the one from Michael's was called, but I found it in the beading section. I purchased it before diamond painting kits were available in the US. The round one either came from Michael's as well, or the Dollar Tree. I see them all over now, so what you've seen is probably the same thing. 💖

We don’t have michaels here in Australia and containers are very expensive here as well,we can no longer order from amazon in US. And the one they set up here is about 3 times the price. That last containers different size one what was brand name might be able to get it elsewhere here

The one I have is made by "Bead Landing." Additionally, if you can't find that storage system, "Darice Elizabeth Ward" system isn't in the video, but is highly recommended among diamond painters, as is the Dot Box system by Cottage Mills. Hope that helps!

MelbourneStorm98 Craft Online and Over the Rainbow both sell the Darice/Elizabeth Ward bead storage. Alternatively, you can buy from Amazon US and use a trans-shipping company to send the goods to Australia. The company will give you an American ‘address’. The one I use will even collect the GST as part of your shipping fee, so no issues with customs when things arrive.

I have a question has there ever been a time where you have reused your drills for other paintings? Or have heard of reusing drills before and I'm confused about the labeling I know that with the paintings they tell you the numbers and then what drills match those numbers but I see that some of yours have symbols are there paintings where they have symbols like that? And between different painting if there's the same color that you've used on previous paintings is it going to be labeled the same thing or are they labeled to how the painting is sorry for so many questions I'm a beginner...

Most kits have a DMC number listed for the drills that is separate from the symbol printed on the canvas. That number is universal, so if you know it, you can use those drills on another canvas if you're short the same color. I keep them so that if I come up short on another project I have a stash at home to use instead of having to wait a month for the seller to replace them. They can also be used in other craft projects, you can glue them to wood frames, ceramic figurines, or even greeting cards

I had that same question too if it was worth keeping them but say I'm working on a different diamond painting and I come up short on the drills are the numbers or symbols going to be the same or do I just need to look through all of them that I have to find that same color

It depends on the manufacturer. Most companies use a DMC number for their drills, which is the same number that's universally used for embroidery floss. Not all companies do that though, so it totally depends on the company you buy from. For extras, you can save them in case you're short on another project, or use them in other craft projects like you would rhinestones.

Are colors all universally numbered and lettered the same so they'd be interchangeable? Just ordered 2"x3" baggies!! They'll take up less space. I'm already semi overwhelmed and I just ordered a child designed canvas. Literally paint by number.

No. Unfortunately not. If a kit has the DMC numbers, those are universal. 💖

They're located in different areas of each kit, if they are included. Usually it will be next to the kit number, and it's a standard format that is always a string of at least three numbers, and no more than four. It's a Darice Flip Top Bead Organizer. I know it's available on Amazon in the US, and most craft stores here carry it, so if you search your local stores and/or web sites, you should be able to find it!

Do you put a border around your diamond painting befor framing?

I haven't yet, just because I've found frames that fit, or have mounted them on foam core. That doesn't mean I won't in the future though. :) I plan on making a video to show a couple of different ways I've mounted paintings as soon as I complete the little canvas I started in the Ready, Set, Drill" Video

You could switch it out with one or two other dark colors like blue or grey, but that's going to add a visual texture to your finished painting that may make it look strange

If the colors match, absolutely! Sometimes, even though they have the same DMC number, the dye lots are different, so the color may be off. So just be sure to check that they're a match before you dump them in together.
